UCLA had to cancel their game last night. Good chance both games for that event (UCLA is supposed to play UNC) don't happen.

It's been a bad week for sports on the Covid front. College games are getting called off now but the NBA, NHL, and Premier League have all postponed a bunch of games. Add in the NFL having record numbers of cases now and things are going to get messy heading into the holiday schedule.

I wanna make some halfway cheeky but halfway serious comment about maybe we should just go into seclusion til the tournament like Baylor.

Has college hoops or other larger event type things ever been subjected to postponements and cancellations like covid has done?

How often do players sit out with other contagious illness?

Do you think it's safer for our players to play in games or hang out in Lawrence at parties and in bars?

Because I highly doubt our players want to go into an extreme lockdown where they are isolated from the outside world entirely.

At this point players should be vaccinated and boosted baded on close contact during games. I think maybe it is time to consider how someone feels and stop tests. I think we are seeing omicron take over and maybe the end of the worst of this. But again, risk aversion with college kids is hard to dispute by universities. No clear path to perfection here.

Last time I remember a large number of events being canceled/postponed was after 9/11. Even that was only about 3-4 days. Covid is going on 2 full years and showing no signs of slowing down, let alone stopping.

Darn, now we aren't going to be able to catch Kentucky on the win list prior to their visit to AFH.

So the event is going to go on without Ohio State vs. Kentucky and UCLA vs. UNC. It'll be one game now: UNC vs. Kentucky.

What? This makes is easier to catch them since they’re now playing one less game, right?

Yeah, you are right. I'd blame medication but I am always this distracted.
