I like Herbert and think he's going to be really good in the NFL. The battles between him and Mahomes should be fun for years to come.

That said, the broadcast crew last night was so over the top with their praise for him. Embarrassingly so at times.

It was borderline creepy

Maybe Buck has Herbert at the top of his list to replace Aikman in his homoerotic dreams….

NO ONE IN THE NFL CAN MAKE THAT THROW.

Bitch, Mahomes has made that throw 5 times this year.

When he said that, I thought “I saw 4 QBs make that throw this week”

Meh, it's their job to pile on superlatives to try to keep people that don't pay that much attention from changing the channel.

The stat line I loved was "Top four QB's First two years in the NFL." That stat will always omit Mahomes since he sat behind Alex the first year. Never mentioned it either, making Herbert look so much better than Mahomes who will not ever appear on that stat line. However, he will appear on the line first two full seasons as QB. Hmmm.

We got 3 games with playoff contenders with the one seed on the line.

Win and we got it.

CnB released Breeland. Believe the Chiefs will sign him for depth.

No need to mess with the chemistry of the team this late in the season. Reward the guys who have been grinding for you all year in Hughes and Baker with more snaps if needed.

Breeland may have just played his way out of the NFL.

The best thing I can say about Breeland is maybe it was a really bad scheme fit for him. He seemed to do well in Spagnuolo's system, but Zimmer's is different for corners--there's a lot of island coverage.

That said, outside of a 4-game stretch where he was very good, he was terrible.

And the worst sin, this past week was just one incident in a long line of drama he has been in since coming to Minny. Chiefs might be the only place that could get anything out of him, but doubt it's worth the risk.

A Breeland story that involves chiefs: Week 11 at SF, Breeland gets into it with a 49er. Goes to their sideline and starts making super bowl ring gestures on his hand. It makes the media. Vikings lose a very important game by one possession.

At that time, in the very thick of the playoff race against another potential wild card team and we have a guy figuratively spiking footballs over an interception that happened 2 years ago on a different team.

Breeland will be re-signed if the Chiefs believe he can act in a mature way. Big if. Does know the defense. Can be a great player. Can be a complete ass cancer too.

Harrison Butker and Charvarious Ward added to the list as well. Same status I would assume.

NFL just made it easier to return from a positive if you're vaccinated which is good for us.

Need to be asymptomatic for 24 hours and only one negative test.

Not good for "us" is that the NFL had 47 (or 51 depending on what you read) players (I think just players - not coaches in that 47/51) added to the "reserve list" yesterday and some if many of those were players who "self reported".
Sorry, but at the rate this is going, there is a decent (define decent as you will) chance that the NFL will shut down. If that happens, the NFL claims the season will/does not get extended. Then what?
At least the Chiefs will be in the playoffs. Assuming there is a playoffs.

I know, I know....

Zero way the NFL halts its season. ZERO. Dates are set, they are already up against the Winter Olympics and they aren't going to miss out on another payday.

I'm glad the NFL has revised its COVID procedures down to one negative test but IMO it really should be if you are fully vaccinated and are asymptomatic you should be able to play. Testing should be self reported when a player isn't feeling well.
The sooner we normalize vaccines and COVID the sooner we will all put this behind us.

I agree Holiday. But players should have been required to vaccinate and boost. Dangerous right now to play if one isn't. Omicron is a son of a bitch coming down the tracks.
