Wilson doesn't look like he's in a slump, he looks like the player most people thought he would be coming out of high school...I think this is just who he is; he'll have spurts, but who he was at the beginning of last year was a mix of very little scouting by opponents and him being in a groove. Once other teams starting keying on him it seemed to take him out of his groove and mess his head up.

Yesufu will never find himself in the same situation at KU that he was in towards the end of his time at Drake, which allowed him to put up the numbers he did. He's a good player, but he's in over his head right now.
What Yesufu did his last 9 games at Drake got him to KU, but the regular commentary on it since has been doing him a disservice.

JCL was brought in to mitigate the loss of Ochai (KU staff thought he was close to 100% gone). Ochai comes back and both him and CB are playing like All-Americans...there's just no significant place for JCL, especially because he's been banged up, hunts for his shot too much, and plays subpar defense.

And that's fair.
He needs to play better to get more minutes.
And hopefully he has the humility and drive to do so instead of tucking tail like others and transferring.

If we make it through this entire season with the same starting lineup every night, we will be the only team to do so.

Mostly agree.
I still think Wilson is good enough start at KU and will eventually play like it.

The nice thing is with Remy and Wilson, we have two streaky shooters who can dominate the stat sheet. Just need to make sure some of the other pieces are playing at high level when they are no-shows. Harris's re-found shooting touch gives Self a great nucleus no matter what.

The thing about jalen is he can play any position on offense but isn't very good at guarding any particular position on defense

Dajuan being the perfect role player and compliment to our other starting wings really hurt yesefus chances of minutes. Id still like to see him get some more minutes. He's so god damn explosive he could really help us. When we get into big 12 play we are gonna need some bench scoring

Dejuan is a very active defender and is good playing in the offense with the personnel on the court. Not a great scorer or shooter and that might be a negative in situations. There was another crowd fave like Dejuan, he went by the name of RussRob.

Yes is no Sherron Collins though.

a Jayhawk buddy just texted me, CB and Och are the first teammates to average 20ppg in a calendar month since Raef Lafrentz and Paul Pierce

That's really great. And they have been really great.

But, I don't think there's any coincidence that that happened when Bill finally played at a modern pace.

For real.

Glad we aren’t walking the ball up the court every possession.

Also helps to play a bunch of nobodies all month.

I'd say it's a combo of both - maybe moreso about the 'nobodies' ( 94th SOS ain't great but there are several worse in the top 25 ).

We have actually played faster than the average NCAA pace in previous years ( 2017, 2013 ).
