Re: 2022 CBB Season
I guess tristan Enaranu had 23 and 8 in that game. not bad. not sure how I feel about Iowa st. but they were in the top 10 off the virtue of winning all their games so far and only lost to #1 baylor by 5 in a top 10 show down

Re: 2022 CBB Season
Iowa State was also 1-14 from 3. Shoot like that and only lose to Baylor by 5, even if they did take their foot off the gas, is reason to be optimistic. That being said, I'm still in the ISU is a fraud category and think they finish sub .500 in league play.
Re: 2022 CBB Season
The should be better than that but who knows. They seem to play aggressively and guard pretty well and that gets you steals, fouls called and transition points. I don't think there are four Big 12 teams better than them in the Big 12 this year. Us, Baylor and Texas. Texas Tech is a maybe.NDballer13 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 03, 2022 8:22 am Iowa State was also 1-14 from 3. They have some good wins, but also a few terrible wins. Blowing out Memphis and Iowa look good on paper, but needing to make FTs to beat Grambling and Alabama St look just as bad.twocoach wrote: ↑Mon Jan 03, 2022 8:57 amThe should be better than that but who knows. According to KenPom, who predicts them going 6-12, they have the worst offensive efficiency in the conference. That's going to be exposed in a league where only TCU has a defense ranked outside the top 50. You mentioned KU, Baylor, Texas, and Tech. KU and Baylor most likely sweep them. I think Texas does too. Even if they go 2-6 against those four, I don't believe they are good enough to sweep WV, OU, and OSU.
Re: 2022 CBB Season
Kenpom also has their defensive efficiency at #7 in the country (Texas Tech at #9 is pretty impressive as well I see). That will win you some games even when the shots aren't falling. But I suck at predicting much of anything so I avoid it. I'll just take a team that is really good at one thing, especially when that one thing is playing aggressive defense, over a team that is mediocre at everything. We'll see, they are confident and scrappy and can hang an L on most anyone I'd bet.NDballer13 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 03, 2022 9:18 amThey have some good wins, but also a few terrible wins. I hope Iowa State is good as I like it when the Big 12 is strong and conference games are entertaining and challenging. Non con teaches the system and shakes out the rotation. Conference gets them battle tested so you know how to run sets in tight game situations.
If Iowa State is a "fraud" and finishes below .500 in Big 12 play, that's fine, too. They are my new Mizzou in that I personally like when the ISU fans get their hopes only to have them dashed against the rocks in soul crushing fashion. So really, whatever they turn out to be is a win-win for me.

Re: 2022 CBB Season
The more I think about it, the more I think fraud is the wrong word. I do feel they are significantly overrated though. In a daytime talk show talking contenders and pretenders, they would be put in the pretender category. They are better than last year. No doubt about it. But a new coach and a few mediocre transfers don't make a 2 win team a top 10 team.
I still think they'll finish in the bottom half of the league and wouldn't be shocked if they finished as low as 8th.

For all the talk of the weaker SOS, and it is weaker, Lunardi has us as a 1-seed today. Michigan State win keeps looking better.

Looking at those locations for the Midwest bracket is crazy. Can we switch from Portland to San Diego for the first two rounds?CrimsonNBlue wrote: ↑Tue Jan 04, 2022 11:28 am For all the talk of the weaker SOS, and it is weaker, Lunardi has us as a 1-seed today. Yeah, we're going to be in Indy or Ft. Worth. Seems unlikely at this point to drop below a 2 seed.nu_bronco wrote: ↑Tue Jan 04, 2022 11:47 amLooking at those locations for the Midwest bracket is crazy. If I were to attend, I'd prefer Indy for the long weekend.

That kid should have stepped up into his chest since K wanted to be the aggressor.
I used to want to like K, but it's fucking impossible. The last 10+ years he's been brutal. He was much more likeable in the late 90s early 2000s imo.
Re: 2022 CBB Season
I'm not sure ratface was every likeable, but he's really been an insufferable prick the last 10-15 years.
Re: 2022 CBB Season
Be too late for me but good one tonight w Tech and ISU.
Re: 2022 CBB Season
Back in the Trajon Langdon years he seemed more genuine and likeable...but man, some of the stuff recently is kind of bizarre. Going after that kid like that was weird. Wonder if he's got some sort of mental issues going on? Ever since he laid down on the court i have been worried about him.
