nah thats fair. there will be some teams (baylor and texas for example) with some athletes that can stay in front of our guys and make life a lot more difficult for och and braun. cant remember a year we made it to january without really playing anybody

I thnk Remy really pissed Bill off after that SFA game. Remy completely changed his play style and Bill couldn't stop talking about him after the game.

You guys, this team is going to be really good. They already are, but potentially an all-time Self type of team when all is said and done.

This is good news? He had an exceptional game, we can all agree on that, but is he the answer for the rest of the season at the 5 spot?

All this is going to do is stunt the growth for guys like KJ, Clemence and Wilson. There is a lot of talent with those guys, why not roll the dice with the guys with more upside?

I wish it didn't have to be this way, but I'm fine with it; Mitch deserves it.

Wilson is not a 5. After tonight he has 5 total minutes at the 5 this year and we've looked awful/awkward in those minutes.

Mitch is better than KJ and Clemence right now. He's not "stunting their growth" at all.

And the same can be said for Mitch, he’s not a 5 either. Mitch has one excellent game in his sixth year here and all of a sudden he’s the answer?

And yes, every meaningful minute he takes from the those guys mentioned above, they have valuable minutes taken from them, thus stunting their growth.

When the Chiefs were at 3-4 this year, everyone was calling for Juan Thornhill to start over Dan Sorensen, but Spags wouldn’t do it. Why not? He does have a couple of super bowl rings and did beat Tommy! He was wrong. And we could all see it.

Same thing with Self right now, his superior talent isn’t starting on several positions (the 5 being one of them).

Dave starts at the 5. He's more talented than KJ or Clemence or Mitch.

Mitch is better at basketball than any of them currently.

Nova won 2 titles in 3 years with a non traditional 5 man. It can be done. We do have a “hall of famer”.

It can be done. And if we do it with someone other than Dave starting at the 5 it'll be Mitch who is a non traditional 5.

I can respect your opinion, but do me a favor, don’t back off of it. Mitch is obviously your guy. When he costs us a game or just goes back to being the same ole Mitch, don’t say he needs to be replaced with _________.

And if we win a title with Mitch playing the 5, I’ll buy you a 12 pack of your choice.

Well whether he starts or not if we win a title this year it'll be with him as our 1 of our 2 bigs. There is really no way around it. KJ and Clemence aren't even close.

And fwiw, my opinion of Mitch has very little to do with tonight.

Don’t back off already. Look at what you said three posts above. “If not Dave, it’s Mitch.”

I think I probably dislike Mitch as a player more than anyone on this board. He has looked good this season, but will get absolutely cooked by elite teams. I don't think Jalen is the answer at 5, either. It has to be Dave and the fact that we're entering conference play with him contributing basically nothing is a bad sign for March and April.

I’m to the point where I have to believe that Dave isn’t healthy. There’s no other explanation IMO.

As for Wilson, I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a kid regress under Bill Self this badly before. This is Quentin Grimes stuff here, but worse. What the hell did he work on last Summer? Hes been on campus 3 seasons… I don’t get it.
