We already know portions of the right won't accept the results if he doesn't win.

How does this possibly end well?
It would be foolish to answer that question prior to the election. Nothing was off limits in the Trump Presidency and now they have more experience in what will and will not be supported by their voters. It has been made clear that there is nothing off limits to the GOP so nothing would surprise me.

We'll see.

And to your insinuation? I firmly believe we are headed towards an event that will make Jan. 6th look like a PTA meeting. The loonies have not calmed since Trump left office, they have gotten worse. The disinformation campaign against rational, logical thought has been cranked up to 11 because why wouldn't it? It has proven to work. We are headed towards major issues in our country.

And you're confident the left won't engage in similar activities if shit goes the wrong way in 2024?

I am more confident in the left than the right, because the right already proved what they'll engage in...but i wouldn't be shocked at all if Trump (or Trump Jr LOL, or Desantis, or whichever idiot gets picked) wins and there are issues similar to Jan 6.

I don't "think" the left will accept a losing result at this point...but i "know" many on the right won't because they haven't even accepted the 2020 result yet.

Not exactly. Only 1 side lost in 2020 (well we all lost by having to pick 1 of those 2, but another discussion)...
But yes i am concerned what will happen if the Dems lose in 2024. Will they accept the results or engage in similarly violent and dangerous actions as the QOP did on Jan 6?

Not sure yet. I'll be nervous for 2024 to see how the losing side reacts.

The left certainly didn't have issues rioting and vandalizing cities during the BLM protests.

Funny how those have a lot of that has stopped now that Biden is president. Strange. Not as many protests. Now people are just people breaking into stores and stealing in large numbers.

So i don't exactly feel like it's a certainty bad shit won't happen.

I am not confident in predicting anything, hence my reluctance to give an answer to your question. As I said, we'll see.

What I can say is that I don't think that Donald Trump can win the election without some seriously questionable things happening while I do believe that the Democratic nominee can win without seriously questionable things happening. I just really hope that Joe Biden is not the Democratic nominee.

I think we feel the same about many things politically even if it doesn't always seem so. Shockingly i think Cascadia and I probably line up similarly as well.

I think that's part of my fear. The left doesn't think GOP nominee can win without cheating (they said trump had no chance against Hillary)...and the right doesn't think the Dem nominee can win without cheating (as evidenced by last time, which continues to this very day).

That's a dangerous game to play.

Saying that "the left" didn't have any issues with the rioting and vandalizing during the BLM protests is just braindead GOP rhetoric. The vast, vast majority of Democrats openly spoke out against such criminal behavior and actions. I am sure you can find a few exceptions to the rule but Biden repeatedly condemned it.

You think it was a bunch of Republicans out there rioting looting and vandalizing?

I am not saying there weren't reasonable people on the left who condemned those actions. There were. I am saying it was Dems participating in the actions for the most part.

Just like there were reasonable people on the right who condemned Jan 6. But it wasn't a bunch of Dems storming the Capitol.

I thought the riots were about police brutality?

Glad none of that occurs now that Biden is in office.

The protests have also died down thanks to less POC being killed by white cops and Chauvin being convicted. It does seem like things are trending in the right direction. At least 8 police officers have either been convicted or pleaded guilty in 2021. All of the officers were white, most of the victims were POC but a few of the victims were also white.

Are less POC being killed by cops?

Is there data to suggest that?

Cuz I’m pretty sure that data has been historically difficult to collect, by design.
