Your 401k is doing great, so he's the bestest president ever.
Great? Fucking awesome! 401K up 18% this year, stock portfolio up 40% and dividends were more than twice salary. Joe Biden is my retirement GOD!

Thank you Uncle Joe.
Gloom and doom morbid thought for the day........
Money does you no good when you are dead.
Between the massive amounts of crime, the divisive political, racial, and religious state of this country, and the lack of giving a fuck about a deadly virus that keeps mutating and my feeling it is inevitable there will be more viruses other than Covid, I don't expect to be alive in the next 10 years - and if I am, this country will probably be an even bigger shit hole than it is today so I'll have little interest in spending my "golden years" with whatever money I have from my 401K.

New President - New Gutter. I am going to pledge my allegiance to Donald J. Trump and for the next 4 years I am going to be an even bigger asshole than I already am.

I rarely look at my 401k, I have it professionally managed through my financial provider. I used to research mutual funds and rates of return, but who has time to do that and keep up on it. I'm sure it's doing fine. I can't touch it for at least another 10-15 years, so whatever, it goes up, it goes down, I don't stress about it. Plus I'll get a nice pension when I retire. By the time I retire, my house will be paid off (assuming I stay in Brookside). By then I'll probably say fvck it, sell the house and buy a single wide out in the desert somewhere...lol.

though, i’d opt for a yurt over a single-wide
Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

When I retire, I don't want to deal with snow and ice and cold temps..where can I buy a log cabin in the mountains that's always sunny and average temps in the mid-70's? That's where I want to be :) Probably doesn't exist.

parts of Arizona and New Mexico might work....still gets cold occasionally though.

id rather be cold than hot....can always wear more clothes, put another log on. It's hard to cool down when its 117 out.

Who does golden years anymore? Now we start jobs with 3 weeks of vacay or unlimited time off. We quit soul-sucking jobs and follow our dreams. Live in your car if you need to, but start living. Get off insta and make your own bucket list. The Jones don't care about you so don't worry about what they think. You do you. Just follow the laws and we are good.

Throw me in the skeptical bucket on that.

Soon covid shots will make us all live forever! Whatever it takes to convince people to continue getting them i guess.

Can you confirm that you pay for The Economist and actually read the article?
