I figure there's a decent chance I won't get selected...I'm educated and pretty opinionated...not the usual choice for a lawyer.

Not in my experience.
I spent a day doing nothing ( reading a book ) in a giant room full of people.
Then the next day I actually sat with around 12-15 other people and was asked one question - attorney hid a pen behind her back and asked if the pen still existed and I answered yes even though I couldn't see it.

That's all they needed.
Not selected and I didn't have to come back the next day.

One thing you can say to try and get out of duty ( which I wouldn't do ) is to speak up and say you have a distrust in the legal system.

That'll red flag you pretty quick like.

for the first time in my life I got summoned for Jury duty for rhe month of February.....ugh

Hopefully I can get out of it. I cant be unavailable and run/be a business without some struggles. How am I supposed to do that?

I've been called for jury duty three times, each time I told them I was sole proprietor of my business and couldn't make the time to sit in. They waived me from having to attend.
