From what I have seen I think Clemence is too slow to be a 4, at least for Self. But his shooting ability does make it easier to play KJ at the 4. They complement each other nicely.
Can Clemence jump? Like, at all?

Re: 21-22 lineup
KJ was brought in as a guy that could eventually play on the perimeter--he's actually kind of short, but can absolutely switch screens. Clemence is more a stretch 4 in the NBA--maybe not here.Mjl wrote: ↑Thu Jan 06, 2022 2:18 pmI think fans and coaches have a different idea of defining a modern 4. His position (PF) might exist next year at KU. KJ and Clemence have a legit chance to start together.
That's all.
Mitch is a PF (based on his size) who cannot shoot threes. He cannot be out there with a true center.

Zach is 6'10 and 225 and can/will put on weight.
He could play center here.
Landen came in 6'9 and was 240.

Re: 21-22 lineup
That's what I'm saying - I think KJ is a perfect 4. But the fact Clemence can shoot makes KJ's lack of outside shooting as a new-Self-4 (which is more of a perimeter position than a post position) less problematic.

KJ seems to me like a slightly more talented Jamari

Take out the slightly. Jamari was just an athlete, not a basketball player.

Re: 21-22 lineup
Jamari has had a long professional basketball career for a guy who isn't a basketball player.
Re: 21-22 lineup
Yes. Could even see some of the old school Self high low with those 2.

KJ is a shorter, faster, stronger, bouncier Mitch who will spend most of his career as a front court energy guy off the bench.BasketballJayhawk wrote: ↑Thu Jan 06, 2022 2:03 pmNow do KJtwocoach wrote: ↑Thu Jan 06, 2022 1:56 pmClemence plays what the PF position has morphed into, a PF who can shoot threes and could be on the court with a center.BasketballJayhawk wrote: ↑Thu Jan 06, 2022 1:45 pm Yes. Re: 21-22 lineup
How’s KJ compare to Zuby?
Re: 21-22 lineup
Wouldn't surprise me. If he was taller or more skilled, I'd think his future was brighter. But he's 6'7" and was ranked 97th in his class. He already behind Clemence with 6'8" Top 50 recruit Zuby Ejiofor and 6'10" Top 30 recruit Ernest Udeh coming in behind him. If both of those two come to Lawrence by the beginning of summer, I wouldn't be surprised to see Adams transfer before the beginning of next season after seeing the writing on the wall.

KJ is only 6'7" yet is the biggest guy in those videos. He isn't going to get to face a bunch of 5'10" skinny white kids any more.CrimsonNBlue wrote: ↑Thu Jan 06, 2022 2:59 pmTake out the slightly. Jamari was just an athlete, not a basketball player.

Knew this response would be coming. Point of the video is his projection to play out on the wing and the vid shows he has some perimeter skills.twocoach wrote: ↑Thu Jan 06, 2022 4:09 pmKJ is only 6'7" yet is the biggest guy in those videos. 97th? He wasn't that low in any of the services. Average (RSCI) 66th.twocoach wrote: ↑Thu Jan 06, 2022 4:03 pmWouldn't surprise me. I hope that another summer of practice and some offseason work with the coaches leads to him being able to do that next year for Kansas.CrimsonNBlue wrote: ↑Thu Jan 06, 2022 4:14 pmKnew this response would be coming.
