Clemence plays what the PF position has morphed into, a PF who can shoot threes and could be on the court with a center.

Mitch is a PF (based on his size) who cannot shoot threes. He cannot be out there with a true center.
I think fans and coaches have a different idea of defining a modern 4. Fans think it's the ability to shoot threes. I think the coaches (especially Self) see it more as someone who can defend inside and/or rebound some, but can also switch screens.

From what I have seen I think Clemence is too slow to be a 4, at least for Self. But his shooting ability does make it easier to play KJ at the 4. They complement each other nicely.

Can Clemence jump? Like, at all?
his vertical can’t be any worse than DMac’s
Or Jalen's

KJ was brought in as a guy that could eventually play on the perimeter--he's actually kind of short, but can absolutely switch screens. Clemence is more a stretch 4 in the NBA--maybe not here.

Zach is 6'10 and 225 and can/will put on weight.
He could play center here.
Landen came in 6'9 and was 240.

That's what I'm saying - I think KJ is a perfect 4. But the fact Clemence can shoot makes KJ's lack of outside shooting as a new-Self-4 (which is more of a perimeter position than a post position) less problematic.

KJ seems to me like a slightly more talented Jamari
Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

Take out the slightly. Jamari was just an athlete, not a basketball player.

Jamari has had a long professional basketball career for a guy who isn't a basketball player.

Yes. Could even see some of the old school Self high low with those 2.

Now do KJ
KJ is a shorter, faster, stronger, bouncier Mitch who will spend most of his career as a front court energy guy off the bench.

Then he'll probably transfer.

Wouldn't surprise me. If he was taller or more skilled, I'd think his future was brighter. But he's 6'7" and was ranked 97th in his class. He already behind Clemence with 6'8" Top 50 recruit Zuby Ejiofor and 6'10" Top 30 recruit Ernest Udeh coming in behind him. If both of those two come to Lawrence by the beginning of summer, I wouldn't be surprised to see Adams transfer before the beginning of next season after seeing the writing on the wall.

Udeh should be our big man beast. Maybe not right away, though.

KJ is only 6'7" yet is the biggest guy in those videos. He isn't going to get to face a bunch of 5'10" skinny white kids any more.

Knew this response would be coming. Point of the video is his projection to play out on the wing and the vid shows he has some perimeter skills.

97th? He wasn't that low in any of the services. Average (RSCI) 66th.

I hope that another summer of practice and some offseason work with the coaches leads to him being able to do that next year for Kansas.
