Dang it you and your elite posting skills.

But actually the answer was D.

God is feeling his Old Testament self and being all spiteful toward humans again. You know, because gay marriage and stuff.

But mostly just dude-on-dude marriage. Cuz with girl-on-girl, even the good lord himself can just stop and say, “…nice.”

Based on the latest discussion in the Covid thread: the kneading of meanings of the “original” to fit one’s agenda for Bible verses reminds me of the computer-aided translation legend which yielded the proverb “Vodka is great but the meat is bad”. The story goes that it was easy to transcribe Russian/Soviet intercepts but hard to translate. So they came up with a computer program. In order to test the fidelity they translated the proverb “the spirit is strong but the flesh is weak”. Translated to Russian and back it became “vodka is great but the meat is bad”.

I think Aramaic to Greek to Latin to Olde English to Modern English can result in some interesting thoughts from God, Her Son and Prophets

Add to that the willful deletion, alteration, and addition to the original manuscripts by sanctimonious scribes, and you've got one hell of a contemporary novel.

The Codex Sinaiticus, which used to be on display at the British National Museum, is the best example of this--one can actually see lines drawn through the script and additions written in the page borders that do not correspond with any of the earlier extant manuscripts that had been found.

Nearly half of LGBTQ Americans are religious, and a majority of all people of faith, LGBTQ and non-LGBTQ, support protections against discrimination for LGBTQ people. Myths that all people of faith oppose LGBTQ people and equality are fueled by vitriolic opposition to LGBTQ people and families by anti-LGBTQ activists who claim to speak for all Christians or other religious groups. The rhetoric of these anti-LGBTQ activists frequently leads to media coverage that falsely positions LGBTQ equality as "God vs. gay." Despite increasing religious acceptance of LGBTQ people, voices of those who oppose LGBTQ equality are disproportionately represented in media coverage: a 2012 GLAAD study found three out of four religious leaders interviewed by the media on LGBTQ issues come from traditions that have policies or traditions that oppose LGBTQ equality. In 2020, a Center for American Progress (CAP) study of media coverage of LGBTQ issues found that while 66.3% of the religiously-identified sources in these articles expressed negative or anti-LGBTQ sentiment, public opinion polling of religious-affiliated Americans suggests that only 25.8% oppose nondiscrimination protections for LGBTQ people.

Mainstream religious denominations support LGBTQ equality. For decades, the Unitarian Universalist Association, the United Church of Christ, and the Metropolitan Community Church have had policies of LGBTQ inclusion, including ordaining LGBTQ people, performing weddings for same-sex couples, and advocating for LGBTQ equality under the law. Within the last 20 years, The Episcopal Church, Reform and Conservative Judaism, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, and the Presbyterian Church (USA) have all adopted policies of LGBTQ inclusion. Their leaders are often vocal supporters of marriage equality, employment nondiscrimination, transgender inclusion, and other LGBTQ issues.

My little church in the suburbs has been open and affirming since freaking 1988.
I think folks that continue to knowingly give credence to the myth that all churches hate gays must be gullible Trumpers.

For sure, several mainstream denominations are not supportive of LGBTQ+ rights. And others have only been supportive in the last few years or decades. Much horrible harm has been done in the past to LGBTQ+ people. But the baby does not need to be thrown out with the bath water.

This.

And fwiw, I am not religious (or lgbtq+). But it doesn't bother me if others are. I care whether they are good people or not, religious or not.

There's an entire political party (of our two-party system) for which what people do with their bodies in private very very very much is an apparent public concern.

Or is Jesus the same guy for you?
And if Jesus is the same guy, is Jesus still God's son? Clone situation?
