No downside to non-revenue sports being good.
That’s good for Brandon Schneider. This was likely his last year if they did not show results.
And he still might be in the near future--he's been here awhile. I've watched a little CWBB b/c my cousins played, and it sure seems like a sport where you just have to retain and develop players with their junior and senior seasons in mind.

I have been wondering who Goff would replace first: Brandon Schneider or Ritch Price. Schneider has the WBB off to their best start it seems in ages.
According to wikipedia, Price makes $1.2 million. Crazy. Been here forever.

KU is never going to be perennially good at baseball, but KU Baseball under Price just kind of exists and not much else.

Agree that KU will never be perennially good at baseball. Price has done a decent to good job. Career record over .500 and 3 NCAA Tournament Appearances.

I think you would ideally like to see a little bit more conference succuss and a couple more NCAA appearances, but if you get rid of Price you run the risk of getting even worse.

Kind of a tough spot to be in. I think as long as the program/athletes don't bring any bad press to the University you're happy with what you currently have.

I, of course, don't know much about college baseball but I'd have to think it has changed some in the last 20 years. You keep Bill Self around for several decades, but middle of the road coach? I'm not sure. Maybe there are some new ideas out there. The Prices are certainly ingrained in KU by now, though.

Hell, I'd be happy with the same success but just have 2 guys like Max Scherzer and Ian Kinsler that we could call ours.

Looks like Kim English will have his shot at Missouri after all.

He's going to be really good.

And, I have to think that his existence played into the decision.

Just caught Illinois against the wolves.

Made me miss the good old days back when we had big men too.

Cockburn is a load. Seventh 20/10 game this season.

Michigan pretty much blows this season and they were playing without Dickinson so I pretty much expected Cockburn to have a monster game.
That being said, I wish he was a Jayhawk and it's too bad we didn't make it happen.
