Well, yeah.
Re: Government Shut-Down Thread
So if Trump feels he can build his wall by declaring a national emergency and using DoD money then why would the Dems bother to even listen to any negotiations? Call his bluff and tell him to go ahead and do it while continuing to push for an agreement to end the shut down.
Re: Government Shut-Down Thread
maybe Trump can like pile up all the trash and turds along the border and get his wall that way?
but only if the Mexicans pay for it.

Re: Government Shut-Down Thread
Exactly, would it be too mean spirited or un american to have a few people do some community service and pick up trash?TraditionKU wrote: ↑Sun Jan 06, 2019 8:39 am https://www.nationalgeographic.com/envi ... -shutdown/
wtf is wrong with people?
Liberals say, nope not gonna do it, let Trump pick it up!

If you see trash, pick it up. If you see someone that needs a hand, give them a hand.

You are seriously putting too much effort into this.dolomite wrote: ↑Sun Jan 06, 2019 10:35 amLiberals say, nope not gonna do it, let Trump pick it up!TraditionKU wrote: ↑Sun Jan 06, 2019 8:39 am https://www.nationalgeographic.com/envi ... -shutdown/

Re: Government Shut-Down Thread

Re: Government Shut-Down Thread
People have been on them for only a few centuries, and do significant damage when left unsupervised.DCHawk1 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 06, 2019 10:49 amNatural areas that have been around for millions of years need the gummint to survive now.TraditionKU wrote: ↑Sun Jan 06, 2019 8:39 am https://www.nationalgeographic.com/envi ... -shutdown/

That is kind if the whole reason why they became protected.
Re: Government Shut-Down Thread
umm...those lands aren't "protected" because of average, everyday Joes and Janes. They're protected from development or other encroachment.
Maybe one of your dumbest ever.

I just did.
Lincoln pushed for the Yosemite Grant Act (and later presidents and Congresses followed suit) to protect the natural spaces FOR public use. That is to say that they were created to preserve the space FOR the people, not FROM them.

For people to use, yes.
But, just like society as a whole, there has to be rules.
Lincoln lived in a time that he could not have envisioned the volume of people who would eventually utilize these places, nor the resources necessary to keep them as pristine as possible.
To me, any lasting damage to these areas would be the most tragic part of this childish drama.
