Re: Would you be on the Jury?
choices have consequences
Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

Just like liberals have to admit that a sizable driver of the democratic party are broke-as-a-joke, debt-ridden, tree-hugging, call-someone-to-change-a-lightbulb socialists.KUTradition wrote: ↑Thu Jan 20, 2022 10:42 amreality is uncomfortable for manyCrimsonNBlue wrote: ↑Thu Jan 20, 2022 10:39 am I don't know why we have to pretend there isn't a big overlap between pro-lifers, anti-vaxxers, blue live matters, and people that generally voted for Trump in November 2020.

No, it's pro choice. I am glad those people had the choice to do something smart or do something stupid. It doesn't make it hypocritical to be happy they had that choice and then chuckle when they make the stupid choice after they were so vocal and certain about how stupid the smart choice was.BasketballJayhawk wrote: ↑Thu Jan 20, 2022 10:42 am Is it pro life to cheer and giggle whenever an unvaxxed person dies of covid?

I just don't think name calling/put downs, told-you-so's or any other ways we can promote divide is going to get anyone anywhere.

Is it pro life to impose all sorts of restrictions when it comes to abortion, but then go all BUT MAH RIGHTS about tyrannical vax mandates intended to save lives?BasketballJayhawk wrote: ↑Thu Jan 20, 2022 10:42 am Is it pro life to cheer and giggle whenever an unvaxxed person dies of covid?

i’m not glad they, the person died
but, i am glad that it is demonstrated for all the ignorant masses that death is a very real repercussion to their bad decisions

Most broke-as-a-joke debt-ridden Dems would still go willingly die in a tornado, or go die of covid after being exposed in otherwise preventable work conditions, or generally risk health and life for the sake of making some capitalist richer.
It’s not like Dems wanna seize the means of production about it.

But if Illy can find one pro-lifer who voted for Biden, then……CrimsonNBlue wrote: ↑Thu Jan 20, 2022 10:39 am I don't know why we have to pretend there isn't a big overlap between pro-lifers, anti-vaxxers, blue live matters, and people that generally voted for Trump in November 2020.

Re: Would you be on the Jury?
The automatic response by blue live matters to a black person getting mowed down by a cop is: "just comply." So spare everyone with any indignation over people snickering about Herman Cain Awards.
Re: Would you be on the Jury?
This exactly. The stupidity of all of this when there is so much evidence out there to the contrary has gotten to the point of "laugh to not cry/scream". To be at this point and still be a covid denier/"my faith will protect me" is just mind boggling.KUTradition wrote: ↑Thu Jan 20, 2022 10:50 ampretty muchtwocoach wrote: ↑Thu Jan 20, 2022 10:48 amNo, it's pro choice. But, some of that is tongue-in-cheek. The parties' have their warts.

This applies generally to most hot topics.
Painting an entire swath as some sort of villainous/mindless construct should only apply to Mizzou fans.
Re: Would you be on the Jury?
It comes down to western religion’s grander role in imperialism.
Priests COULD speak out as passionately about war and inequality and other inhumanities just as passionately as they do against abortion
But instead, they cherry pick one misogynistic patriarchal issue to actually frame as some moral mandate to act against, and give only lip service to everything else
Meanwhile the the capitalists use religion in a way that excuses all sorts of genocide and inequality and inhumanity, cuz at least they’re “spreading the good word of the gospel” about it right?
