I hope he comes here and is as damn good as his dad was as a player.

Pretty sure he is all-state 6A in Kansas. Good player. He's like 6' 4 or 6' 5 too. Doesn't hurt to have him stay local.

Sounds like a preferred walk-on situation, correct? That would be awesome to keep a kid like that local. You know he would work his ass off to make an impact. Exactly the type of kids we need, especially in-state.

This is the preferred walk-on recruiting time. The winter transfer rush is done, the spring transfer rush will begin around May. This is all about building the roster with walk-on kids now.

Is the February late signing day still a thing?

Kind of got lost in the shuffle but KU picked up another 3-star high school DB for the 2022 class yesterday.

Yep. Former Auburn commit. A bit on the shorter side at 5'11 but seems to be a good player.

That's a huge late pick up.

Original post updated. I believe we are now at 84 scholarships with Casey still being counted as a walk on.

Obviously my numbers could be a little off, but I think they are very close to accurate.

Even though it's a small class, the average ranking per recruit (per 247) is the highest since 2009

Really skewed with a low number of recruits. They are still last in average per recruit, but they are heavily in the transfer market with guys who have multiple years to play here. That's where the eggs are in the basket for this year. Plus, recruiting has changed. Transfers are going to matter.

Will always be an uphill battle. Leipold is not a fantastic recruiter. He's a developer.

This doesn't go here, but it's the best place for it as this is the popular thread.

Brent Dearmon moved on from Mid Ten State really quick. Now at FAU. Don't think going home was the main reason he left Kansas.

He caught lighting in a bottle with Carter. Rest of the league caught up with him. He couldn't evolve and I also believe he and Miles ran afoul of each other.
