Remy's Knee Thread:
Re: Remy's Knee Thread:
KJ situation different.
Mitch foul trouble, DMac was having trouble closing on a red hot Williams
If Harris gets in foul trouble I expect you'll see Remy. I dont think Remy will play more minutes than Harris ROS. You'll see them both but I dont think Self will have Remy running the show as his primary option at this point.
"Who would he go in for?"

Re: Remy's Knee Thread:
I do think mjl may have nailed it last night: Harris gets Russ Rob treatment, but when the big boy games start, Remy is the Sherron. Whoever starts is fine so long as Self and Remy are on the same page.
At least I sure hope so. I think everyone has to admit the team has looked like they might be plateauing with Harris and current rotation. Remy and KJ seem to be the guys we need to get going to give us that extra.

Re: Remy's Knee Thread:
Plateauing still being a top 5 team in the country though and leading the B12.
Re: Remy's Knee Thread:
I didn't say he made a great play. I said he made the assist. That is a fact.CrimsonNBlue wrote: ↑Tue Jan 25, 2022 7:26 am Thinking he made some great play on Och’s game tying 3 last night is also hilarious.
It's so easy to identify the people who are actively cheering against certain players.
All i had to do was point out a crucial assist and it aggravated someone.
Re: Remy's Knee Thread:
The fact that it took double overtime for our PG to get his second assist makes any comparisons to Miles ridiculous. Miles averaged 7 a game.

I didn't come up with him assisting on Och’s 3. It actually happened.
Re: Remy's Knee Thread:
Harris was guarding a team without a point guard. And a team with guys much bigger and more physical than him... We made no adjustments and it nearly cost us the game.

Re: Remy's Knee Thread:
Remy is as small as Harris.
We couldn't play with no PG, right?
Maybe we could have gone CB Och Jcl JW KJ? Seems like something we'd never practice though.

Agreed.CrimsonNBlue wrote: ↑Tue Jan 25, 2022 7:34 am I do think mjl may have nailed it last night: Harris gets Russ Rob treatment, but when the big boy games start, Remy is the Sherron. Whoever starts is fine so long as Self and Remy are on the same page.

It's not just that. Harris is just as bad or worse of a liability on offense because NOBODY GUARDS HIM ON THE PERIMETER!BasketballJayhawk wrote: ↑Tue Jan 25, 2022 9:09 amRemy is as small as Harris.

When he's on the floor, it clogs up the offensive flow.
Look at the last play of regulation. He passed to Och and Harris man immediately followed the pass, essentially doubling Och on the perimeter.

We haven't played a good, complete game since Big 12 play started--Remy got hurt the end of December. Maybe coincidence, maybe not.Cascadia wrote: ↑Tue Jan 25, 2022 9:14 amAgreed.CrimsonNBlue wrote: ↑Tue Jan 25, 2022 7:34 am I do think mjl may have nailed it last night: Harris gets Russ Rob treatment, but when the big boy games start, Remy is the Sherron. The overall resume looks good, but a closer look reveals that it is a win over Sparty in the first game, blow outs of bad noncon opponents, and a bunch of one possession games against the Big 12.
Of course, we're going to find out really quick with UK and Baylor on deck.

The sagging off of DH is not nearly as bad as last year. He's shooting 32% from 3pt this season. He's taking shots, but not too many, and he's driving the lane.
DH has not been our problem this year very often. And when he has been bad, Remy has done very little to take his minutes. Remy had his best game of the year last night. Maybe he can build on that.
But for goodness sakes, TT isn't some shitty team. They are excellent at defense. That was a good win in a trap game after a KState thriller and with UK coming Saturday with the GameDay crew. Plus, i have to imagine our guys watched the Chiefs Sunday night and had some fun.
Good win last night. Time to keep it moving forward.

Though I like his consistency and effort, I would argue he is our biggest problem from being elite.
But in terms of our record/standings as is, no, he isn't our biggest problem.

Re: Remy's Knee Thread:
Kind of like our bigs.
Our safest option, this season, may actually be Lightfoot if we want to be average.
Our best option is DMac if we want to be elite.
