Will be interesting to see/hear why they felt he was the best man (or woman) for the job.

If the rumor is true that Poles was/is going to target Dan Quinn and Todd Bowles as his head coach, I'm good with Adofo-Mensah.

No clue if Poles would have wanted the Vikes job if offered tomorrow, but I think there's enough out there to suggest that the Wilfs are easier to work for than McCaskey(s).

I would wish Poles luck, but as a division foe, I hope for nothing but Trubisky's and Edward-Helaire's for him!

Sean Payton retiring is the most shocking news in a while.

"Retiring" Either going to coach elsewhere or go be with Buck on Fox once Aikman goes to Amazon like many think.

I will say Payton is pretty damn overrated. He helped get that team in salary cap hell, signed Taysom Hill to a huge contract and he hasn’t lived up to that.

I think they’re going to rebuild like crazy. Trade away stars for draft picks and whatnot.

I don't know what kind of funny numbers KC can work, but I'd be calling about Lattimore today.

Jerry is tempted now. He wanted him a few years back.

Since he's under contract, compensation will have to go back to Saints if he coaches anywhere else.

That might be why they are looking "retirement" loophole.

I think Payton is a pretty good offensive coach. He's also known to be a world-class jerk. Failing in Dallas would be par for the course for that franchise.

I don't think he's worth the value of what they'd ask, but I'd also send a feeler for Michael Thomas. He's 28. I don't think he's totally done.

Even an 80% Michael Thomas would have one million catches with Mahomes.

If the rumors from a couple weeks ago have any truth to them, KC is expected to be a player in a trade for Calvin Ridley this offseason.

Also a risk with his mental health.
Will he just not play for Atlanta?

Value obviously critical but they’re in salary cap hell.

Some smoke with Rodgers and Davante Adams both ending up in Denver.
Broncos would have to give up a couple 1sts and more for Rodgers.
Adams a free agent.

I haven't kept up on it, is there no way the Packers can keep both Rodgers and Adams?

There is but it'll take a lot of work.
Packers in salary cap hell.

You'd probably franchise tag Adams.
Then you'd have to go to town on cutting/trading salaries.

I would be thrilled to see Adams in a Bears jersey. Heck, if even for just a couple of seasons, I would prefer an old balls Rodgers over a young balls Fields too. That's one of many reasons why I haven't received a phone call from a NFL team for a GM interview.

Adams, if he's not going to be franchised, will want north of 25 million a season.
I guess if you think you can compete in the weakened NFC North ( if Adams is gone, i'm guessing Rodgers will be too, so then the Pack are likely in rebuild mode ) then that might be worth it.
Otherwise, let someone else spend the hefty price.

This whole time, if forced to give a prediction, I would have guessed Aaron Rodgers would go to the Saints. But now I feel like that heavily depends on who they get to replace Payton.

If the Saints reached out to Rodgers to gauge his interest, I wonder how much say they would allow Rodgers to have in their coaching decision.
