Are you confusing DaJuan and Remy or have you not watched the last few games? DaJuan is going to the rim, attempting layups, and is just missing them or getting blocked. Remy rarely takes it to the rim looking to score. Look at their shot charts.

I wonder what tattoo Cam and his dad Ousdahl will be getting together this offseason?
Re: Jawhawks in the NBA
Yeah, none of our guards are good at getting to the rim.
The only reason Dajuan even started trying for layups is cuz the d figured him out.
They realize he doesn’t look for the rim, only looks to pass, so they took away the passing lanes and forced him to try for the rim.
And he still wasn’t getting layups, cuz he’d end up trying to score over a bigger defender.

The second tallest mountain in the Himalayas is still a peak. Four Final Fours vs. two is better. You understand that and just choose to argue so you don't look like the Cal apologist you get painted as here. It's all good, I get it.BasketballJayhawk wrote: ↑Fri Jan 28, 2022 9:53 am1 national title each. The Calipari way hasn't worked better than the Self way.
Everyone wants the Cal way until you're watching your team in the NIT.

Who?
And as for Cam, yeah it head scratching that the only GM move to address the 5 spot with known issues was a freshman and a D2 redshirt.

Re: Jawhawks in the NBA
Give me the 14 straight conference titles over the two extra Final Fours, all day tho.

Re: Jawhawks in the NBA
If someone asked me, is Ochai good at getting to the rim this season, I would not hesitate.
Yes.
Yes.
Re: Jawhawks in the NBA
I'd rather have 14 straight conference titles and two more Final Fours. Kansas has been in position to have that and has fallen short. 2011 and 2017 should have been those two additional Final Fours.
Re: Jawhawks in the NBA
I think Yes and Remy can get to the rim but not score.
Dejuan can get to the rim only because they aren't guarding him. But he still doesn't score.

Gee, considering everyone else has been serviceable welcoming so far, you sure are condescending to the new guy.BasketballJayhawk wrote: ↑Fri Jan 28, 2022 10:07 am
Your analysis is piss poor. Almost as bad as your hot take attempts at overly simplified explanations for our troubles with things like "CB makes us have a low ceiling" and "maybe we didn't get out in transition because DH has bad stamina".
Maybe we didn't get out in transition because they had 2 guards going nuts on us from 3 (from everywhere really)? You can't get out in transition when the other team scores. Especially when they only send 1 player max to crash the offensive glass.
I think CB’s ceiling is sky hi. I’ve already said that.
And do you think maybe their guards going off on us had anything to do with our guard’s lack of stamina?
Dajuan is the only guy I recall who Self ever expressed concern about not being able to play too much cuz of stamina.
Heck, even when he was playing Devonte 40 minutes a night, the story was “meh he’ll be fun just give him a a massage after the game”

Agreed. CB just needs to finish better. He has gotten there a lot but has missed an unreal amount of make-able shots at the rim. Next year, I suspect he will have a wide range of floaters and finishing skills.CrimsonNBlue wrote: ↑Fri Jan 28, 2022 10:19 amOch is the best and I can't believe I am saying that after the last 3 years.
CB might be the best at the rim, but he lacks that first step to get there in the first place.

If Dajuan’s name was Marcus Garrett, he woulda been chased outta Lawrence by now

Are you referencing some of last season? CB is 61% from 2 this year--granted, you have to consider wide open transition dunks.twocoach wrote: ↑Fri Jan 28, 2022 10:23 amAgreed. He's vastly improved at the rim this season and I think it all has to do with how much stronger he is.
Re: Jawhawks in the NBA
Garrett got SO much shit last year for his lack of scoring, and the bulk of the blame for that team’s lack of success, despite being the only guy who was actually ready for NBA minutes.
And now here we are, defending Dajuan for his intangibles.
