Chiefs 2021
Re: Chiefs 2021
#1 is gutter and he's been doing that with KU basketball for 20+ years.
#3 and #4 are the best type of fan.
#2 might be the worst. At least you know that #1 is an asshole.

People said the same thing to Saints fans a few years ago.jfish26 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 31, 2022 6:11 amI don’t think he was touched. Wouldn't want the game to end this way but rules are rules. I thought this was a potential fumble at the time. Officials response is definitely garbage.
Again, I do not want to see games end or be severely affected by these kinds of calls/plays, but rules are rules. Blatantly disregarding them for 'optics' is even worse optics.
Re: Chiefs 2021
There are versions of 2 worse than 1. Generally 1 is worse than 2 bc they will also talk as long as you respond, sometimes referencing plays, stats or past games they just looked up. But they do it in a "lol you lost" manner, always delivering it like that.
They are doing everything they can for attention.

Re: Chiefs 2021
I agree, and I think officiating around end of play stuff needs an overhaul generally; in the “fumble?” context, there’s WAY too much riding on the call on the field (in that a call of fumble is subject to automatic review as a turnover, and a call of down by contact (1) requires a challenge to overturn and (2) negates a return)).Cascadia wrote: ↑Mon Jan 31, 2022 7:08 amPeople said the same thing to Saints fans a few years ago.jfish26 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 31, 2022 6:11 amI don’t think he was touched. 5 O Linemen.
They rush 3.
What are Trey Smith and Humphreys doing?
What is Thuney doing?
Seems like a play where you'd have a screen pass because they are just completely giving up - but there was no one to throw the screen behind the line to.
How did this even happen?
Re: Chiefs 2021
Also, with 1:30 left and timeouts, run the ball on 2nd and goal from the 4.
We were averaging over 5 YPC.

Re: Chiefs 2021
Ran the ball eight times in the second half, despite having a lot of success on the ground. That's on Andy.
Re: Chiefs 2021
Yup.
And/or Bieniemy.
McKinnon was getting 7-8 yard chunks on 1st down.

Re: Chiefs 2021
People wonder why EB doesn’t have a HC job last night may be the reason why he never has one. I still have no idea how that offense got pants’d that bad by a pretty average Bengals defense. Mind blowing how you let that one slip away. Reid, needs to take a hard look at himself in the mirror because that loss is squarely on his shoulders. If you don’t want your wonder kid QB doing dumb stuff use your RB’s who were averaging over 5 yards a carry with the strength of your o-line against a freaking 3 man front and blow them right out of the water.
That will forever be Andy Reid’s downfall. Over thinks it, gets to cute and is to nice and then chokes.

Re: Chiefs 2021
So who do the Chiefs try to resign with friendly deals? They have 20+ players to choose from I believe.
My choices would be (in no particular order):
1) Tyrann
2) Orlando Brown
3) Ingram
4) Pringle
5) Ward ?
6) Okafor
7) McKinnon
Definitely not, Sorenson, Clark, Remmers, Watts, D. Williams, and probably a few other I can't remember.

I'd go 50% Andy/Bieniemy, 40% Mahomes, 10% on Clark and Chris Jones.
Andy and Bieniemy got too cute. Started with last play of 1st half. Gotta mix in the run still. Don't call up plays for Demarcus Robinson.
You could say it's not fair that the QB gets so much criticism but he's built the expectations. Mahomes can't throw it directly to a defensive lineman. Or into double coverage. Or can't make that throw at the end of the first half. Or can't take a sack on 2nd and goal from the 4. He missed a lot of open players in the 2nd half.
Did Clark or Jones even get a sack?
How many pressures did they get? Three?

You might franchise Orlando Brown.
I like trying to bring those 7 back but you can't sign bad deals.
If one of them is asking well above market, you have to let them walk.
Darrell Williams i'd bring back at the right price.
It'd be nice to find a FA power back though.

Also, will be lost to history, but burning that timeout before challenging the spot in the first half was typically brutal. If you challenge and fail...you lose that timeout. Only real harm is you lose challenges later, but that consequence has been greatly blunted by the rule that all scoring plays and turnovers are booth reviews.holidaysmore wrote: ↑Mon Jan 31, 2022 8:35 am People wonder why EB doesn’t have a HC job last night may be the reason why he never has one. Re: Chiefs 2021
I've heard from 3 of these.pdub wrote: ↑Mon Jan 31, 2022 6:43 am Also I've found there are generally four types of sports fans when it comes to a team that looses that they arent affiliated with. "Interacted" with all four.
1. The troll/asshole. Shows up and just talks shit. Wasnt there when you were winning, just there for the loss. This was my older cousin, a colts fan, who only texts after the Chiefs lose, and a coworker, who is a light Pat's fan. "Uh oh" and "they blew it" and gifs of people eating popcorn. These are the worst.
2. The analyst. The person that shows up describing the game, breaking down the plays, ultimately giving credit to the winning team, and very quick to counter any officiating controversy, but sprinkling in messages about how great the game was or your team did. A coworker stating, "the bengals might pull a Chiefs to the Chiefs". These aren't great because they are ultimately there to remind you, you lost and will just discuss the other team ad nauseam if you respond, even if they have no dog in the fight.
3. The apologist. Thoughts and prayers guy. Got several of these. "Sorry man", "that's rough". These are fine. Some may want to rub it in a bit but most are sincere. Some of these will also actually text you after a big win.
4. The ghost. This is the best fan. They know they aren't fans of either team. They also know you're a fan of said team and you just lost. So they dont say anything. Theyll wait to see if you want to talk about it. Have a friend whom I talk sports with almost daily who is a Yankees, UNC fan. We have been practicing ghosting for years because we understand how to be a good fan.
Defense. Rebounds.
Re: Chiefs 2021
The ghost may reach out eventually with a 'sorry man'. You can still put them in the ghost category with a 'sorry man' as long as they give a window of time.

Also, Reid (and to some extent EB) are absolutely awful when playing with an early 2 score lead. He/They get way to conservative and let the other team build momentum while simultaneously putting their own team on edge.
I thought we were in trouble yesterday when we went 3 and out (technically 5 and out) on the first drive of the 2nd after after the debacle ending to the first half.

Re: Chiefs 2021
The offense had 5.8 yards per carry in the game. Guess what their worst run of the game was? McKinnon for 1 yard on the final drive of regulation.holidaysmore wrote: ↑Mon Jan 31, 2022 8:35 am People wonder why EB doesn’t have a HC job last night may be the reason why he never has one. Reid wasn't patient enough. Wouldn't surprise me if EB is gone after this year. I think the offense has reached its peak with him as OC. I know Reid calls the plays and draws them up, but EB leads the meetings and does most of the communicating on the field during the games.

Re: Chiefs 2021
I don't think the issue yesterday was conservatism; trying for the TD at the end of the half was aggressive (and correct - the issue was the play call, not the calling of the play). And we refused to run in the second half.Cascadia wrote: ↑Mon Jan 31, 2022 8:59 amI agree.holidaysmore wrote: ↑Mon Jan 31, 2022 8:35 am People wonder why EB doesn’t have a HC job last night may be the reason why he never has one.
