Pouring is 2021 heading into the Big 12 and NCAA tournament.

Deadly torrential downpour is 2020.

This is more than manageable.

What are the Covid protocols these days? Won’t his status for Saturday be in serious jeopardy?

Self said everyone was vaxxed preseason.

Maybe he’s back but has to wear a mask..?

5 days from positive test, whenever that was.

So, sure, status for Saturday in jeopardy, but way better now than later.

Had to have tested positive yesterday. Or sooner.

So decent chance back for Saturday, maybe in a mask.

Apparently no official word if he tested positive or if it’s contact tracing.

If it's just contact, since he's vaxxed, he'd be available to play.

If there’s some blessing in disguise silver lining to most productive and best player being out, it’s that we get reps for others, and generally a little better opportunity for someone else to step up.

Maybe.

This team has some pieces that could still emerge.

I am excited to watch this game.

Such an opportunity to leave this game thinking wow these guys stepped up and this team is a heck of a lot more than just Och.

Let's be full strength for Baylor, though.

I watched baylor and WV last night.

It was a close back and forth (between one team in the top 10 and the other unranked and last place in the conference)

WV’s Taz was lighting up the bears for a career high, til he got popped in the face and went to the locker room with like 4 minutes left. Even then, it stayed close til the end.

Of course, none of that has any bearing on either team’s games with us.

Baylor also played without Cryer and Flagler.

Tech has played, and won, games without 2 of their studs.

Baylor has played, and won, without 2 of their studs.

KU will be playing without 2 of their studs. Time to see how they stack up with other teams.

It’s paradoxical, but knowing we’re down at least our best player kinda makes me more excited to watch.

Self teams tend to play better in back-against-the-wall situations (which almost seem rare to come by, for a team that’s the archetypal Goliath more often than David)

And this team is already in gut-check mode, perhaps even with some awareness that we gots a corner to turn.
