And I’m asking you cuz, don’t you remember, I thought I don’t even watch the games, right?
If he’s scoring in the paint around the basket, does that mean he’s a slasher?
Or maybe it’s more on putbacks and such, as a utility guy, when our actual bigs are sucking too much?
Or is he posting folks up like a power forward?

Re: Joe Yesufu Commits
Bro but many of the recruiting sites listed him as a power forward, duh.
I just think he would have posted up on at least one possession by now, right?
Especially considering how boned up Self gets about running everything thru the post.

Wow, the way that relatively new BasketballJayhawk and the new guy Qusdahl argue, it's almost like they are old board enemies or something.

I dunno.BasketballJayhawk wrote: ↑Wed Feb 02, 2022 2:19 pmYou've never seen KJ with the ball in the post?
How has he scored his 31pts? Jumpers? Or dunks and layups?
I don’t watch the games, so I just assumed he scored all 31 with back to the basket post moves, since he’s a power forward and all.

Re: Joe Yesufu Commits
Jamari Traylor was a power forward.
At the moment, i'd safely put KJ in that category.

Re: Joe Yesufu Commits
Jamari got the power forward label largely just as a nice way of saying he was an undersized 5, cuz he mostly played the 5 alongside Perry, who was most definitely not a power forward, something more like a western ks Charmin ultra soft plush forward, which is why he never even sniffed the league despite being 6’8” and skilled.

Re: Joe Yesufu Commits
I'd consider KJ a "modern PF" or "traditional SF".

Traylor was (at best) a utility guy.

Re: Joe Yesufu Commits
I am sure tearing his patellar tendon had nothing to do with him never getting as much of a shot as we expected....but much like JW he just doesn't have a position he can play in the NBA, especially defensively.Qusdahl wrote: ↑Wed Feb 02, 2022 2:32 pm Jamari got the power forward label largely just as a nice way of saying he was an undersized 5, cuz he mostly played the 5 alongside Perry, who was most definitely not a power forward, something more like a western ks Charmin ultra soft plush forward, which is why he never even sniffed the league despite being 6’8” and skilled.
Unfortunately not all good KU players have long NBA careers. That's not exclusive to PE. Thomas Robinson didn't have a very good NBA career based on expectations either.

Re: Joe Yesufu Commits
yep. And I'd like to see it stay that way. would rather he continue to improve his perimeter skills throughout his career. improve his handle and maybe even some shooting. cause I don't wanna see him turn into a guy playing the 5 at 6'7 or whatever he is
