This staff and support staff know what they are doing. Balancing keeping holdovers and maintaining a young roster. They are finding a really good balance until those younger guys are ready.

With decent coaching this unit should help keep KU in games and prevent other teams from scoring a lot of points.
One, Earl Bostick, is an offensive lineman. I'd bet with him coming back he's going to start at LT again.

Also of note, Colin Grunhard is finishing his master's degree and is done playing football due to this injuries.

My mistake, I had Bostick incorrectly listed as DL.

That’s too bad about Grunhard, I thought he would be a major contributor.

Both updated. I now show 83 scholarships

Novitzky, Bostick, Cabledue are the starters back. Ford Jr is a swing tackle, potentially a guard and he played quite a bit last year. His size is probably better for interior. He's a shorter guy in height.

Losing Clark and Hughes from the guard spots. Which is the least important of the line spots. But there will be competition from probably 5 guys for those 2 spots.

This is what I have for returning OL (Games Played - Games Started)

12/12 - Bostick
11/11 - Cabeldue
11/11 - Novisky
10/10 - Ford Jr

2/0 - Reed-Adams
1/0 - Satterwhite

Yeah I think Reed-Adams is the guy that's going to win the job.

I think Cabeldue is the RT. I think they put Ford on the inside, but I'm not 100% sure.

Having a lot of young guys get some meaningful reps is going to be big down the road. I have long said that 2023 is going to be an important year for Les Miles and Kansas Football. He recruited a ton of high school kids and all that. 2023 is still as important, I just feel as though the coaching is going to make a bigger difference with those going to be Juniors or RS sophomores that are going to be playing a lot in 2023.

Don’t like the schedule this year. 2023 is going to be ripe with some important home games against programs you can beat.

I’m still a little confused on how this whole thing works, but I think Novitski could still come back as a RS Super-Senior in 2023.

I’m with you that the 2022 schedule isn’t great. If things go well this season, I do think 6 wins in 2023 could be a realistic goal.

Is Novitzky an NFL prospect, though?

I think at Buffalo he was already on the nation's best center watchlist. 6'5", 300 lb., and iirc, he graded out very well this past season.

I heard this explained a little better on a podcast this morning. The definition of super-senior is technically changing. For 2021, any senior from 2020 could come back for an extra year and not count against your scholarship limit. For 2022 onward, every player who played in 2020 can have an extra year, but they DO count against your scholarship limit. So it's not as simple as a player saying yeah I'll come back and use my extra year. The coaching staff has to evaluate the roster, positions of need, etc. and decide whether or not to extend that offer for that player to come back because they are using one of their 85 scholarships on them now.

Yeah who knows if he will be. If he has a good year, he will be.

On a side note with draft prospects, Kyron Johnson is doing really down in Mobile with the Senior Bowl. Have seen some clips of running over and around OTs.

Kyron was the only other guy I was thinking could be a draft prospect on last year's roster (Neal being too young, not sure how well Logan stacks up).

Yeah.

Finally have stability in the front office, though. And, I do think the Big 12's shaky foundation changes the urgency.
