I haven't seen that from Yesufu at all. If he has an open three he should shoot.

he’s shooting 23% on the season from 3

if it’s early in the shot clock, or not within the flow of the offense, i’d rather him not

for reference, DH is at 31% and Remy is at 36%
Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

I thought this was a MICH post. Old school thinking. Get shots up. What's even clearer from last night is that we can't get into these slow, physical punching matches. We're going to have nothing left.

"Old school thinking. Get shots up."

Get good shots up.
Not deep 3's with 25 seconds left on the clock and none of your team under the basket for a rebound just because there's not a guy on you.

Bring it gramps.

I just think an issue with this personnel the last two seasons is how predictable it is. We look best when we just pin our ears back and fucking run.

Good defensive teams stop you from "pinning your ears back and running".

Have to be able to win multiple ways.

We CAN. And DO.

Banked 3. Shit calls. OCH throwing a shit alley oop. And CB missing 2 fucking free throws. It had nothing to do with pace, personnel, or strategy. It was luck (for them) and (bad) execution (from us).

Nothing more. Nothing less.

On to the next one.

No one really has yet. The stats on our transition offense are elite in the country and historically good under Self.

As much as I can't give credit to Qus, Jalen really does change things there. When all of Jalen, Dave, and CB are rebounding, look out. 76 points on what might be the best defensive team in the country is salty.

True.

I felt like they actually did a decent job of slowing us down for the most part. And we still got 76.

I think this is always going to be a "work in progress" team. We can win it all, but it's going to be an anxious ride for all of us because we have weaknesses and we play wildly different game to game....but here we are as a likely 1 or 2 seed as always. We are going to slop our way to a title eventually, just like so many other schools have. Don't always have to be the best team to win the CBB national championship. Maybe we can get one of those this year!

It would be nice, but I just don't see it with this team. I mean, we have seen this team try to play Bill's preferred way, and it was ugly as shit.

Of course, we want/need for our team to be able to score in the halfcourt in those situations, but this personnel can't play like Tech or Texas and expect to do very well. Which, is fine, play the A-game of our strengths and we have a really great shot at a Final Four.

We're talented enough to dictate our own stuff. We finally kind of did that last night by getting Jalen the ball off of a dribble handoff against one of UT's tall slow-footed oafs.

Dajuan has been great but its not in his skillset. Its open things up a lot for Christian and jalen, who coincidentally have played a lot better lately. Which is good since apparently teams are going to be doing shit like face guarding ochai
not a knock on Yes, but the best way to get the ball (and then the defense) moving is by passing, not dribbling
Thats not true. Nothing gets the defense out of position like a quick first step and beating your man. And THEN passing. It takes both. But I get what you're saying. Too much dribbling doesn't accomplish anything

I knew that would get your attention. ;)

I will stop if you promise not to mention kids not practicing free throws these days, the shot fake, and Coach K and Bob Knight being the greatest people ever.

I've spent much of my time talking about Harris and Dave's limitations, but this team has limitations everywhere -- including with our best players. Agbaji and Braun both are not playmakers outside of transition. It's rare that either player successfully breaks their defender down in the halfcourt, which leads to some really sluggish offense, given the other issues on the roster.

OA and CB would be ideal #2 and #3 options, but because of (I guess) the NCAA investigation we are really limited talent wise so they are #1 and #2 (or #1 and #3 depending on where you slot Dave). I like telling Jeff Goodman to eat a dick as much as the next guy, but he's right about the talent level currently at KU.

I expect us to rally and beat OU, but this team's flaws are on full display.

And yet we are the highest scoring team in the big 12.

Our issues are mainly on defense imo.

Be careful, some one here will say you’re wrong, even though we can all see this is pretty much spot on.

Yes, griping about this being the problem while having the third most efficient offense in the country is wrong.
