that’s fuckin nutz
Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?
Re: Chiefs 2021
Cannot and will not take an article serious that has this bullet at the very top:
The NFL did not order the Chiefs to throw the game.
The NFL did not order the Chiefs to throw the game.
"So, which one of these topics are conspiracy?

Re: Chiefs 2021
If I am not mistaken, I believe there was at least one person on here who posted that they felt either the NFL wanted the Chiefs to throw the game and/or that the Chiefs threw the game.
He/she was hardly the only person who believed that.
I felt it wasn't a bad article and it was actually fairly informative. That's assuming most if not all of it is/was true. I'm somewhat leery.
Is there a good reason why I seem to only read and hear about Bieniemy's interviews with NFL teams but nothing about interviews with NCAA schools/programs/teams? Has he not interviewed with NCAA schools/programs/teams? Maybe I am 100% wrong but I feel the guy is molded more to being a college head coach - and there are more job opportunities.

Re: Chiefs 2021
Anonymous "writers" (it's a glorified fan blog) posting stories from anonymous sources. It may be 100% accurate but that is a great way to have your info and motives questioned.

Ouch if true.
But yes, pretty bloggy.

I read through this with an open mind but also have to take all of this with a huge grain of salt. That is pretty bloggy as others have said.holidaysmore wrote: ↑Wed Feb 16, 2022 9:26 pm Probably the most interesting and scathing articles I have read in a long, long time. Wow.

I want to raise another point though, not necessarily related to the key focus of this article. Has anyone else noticed over the last 3-4 years now that going online after pretty much any sporting event results in seeing the immediate narrative being "they threw the game" "it was rigged" "everything is scripted"? Maybe it's just me but it feels like we are seeing more and more of that recently.
Re: Chiefs 2021
Mahomes went from throwing impossibly difficult bullet passes around defenders to half assed throws right at defenders. The optics were so bad and the positive narrative around Burrow so extreme that the game looked rigged. The dissention and arguing listed in the article at least makes it plausible that it was more sabotage or anger that led to the collapse. But nothing looked kosher in real time and the NFL IS a racket. The Kaepernick situation along with the Brady calls makes a lot of fans give pause. The first game with Cinci looked fixed by the refs too. It looked like a duck. Quacked like one. And had duck ancestors. The collapse was so bad I have seen several scrambling ass-covering explanations for pissed off NFL fans on YouTube and in the press. I have never seen anything like it.

Counterpoint: the Chiefs had a bad season and completely choked under all the pressure of the high expectations.Sparko wrote: ↑Thu Feb 17, 2022 10:05 am Mahomes went from throwing impossibly difficult bullet passes around defenders to half assed throws right at defenders. Next season seems huge for the future of Chiefs/Mahomes.

It was so bad it looked scripted. Bad look for a great team in a championship game.

Re: Chiefs 2021
If the Chiefs had a bad season, one play away from the Super Bowl, what did the Vikings have?

It's the "Western cabal runs everything" shtick of sports. It's like the Bengals had another rusher drop back into coverage and EB failed to adjust his play calling. The Bucs commented about how surprised they were that EB was so stubborn in not adjusting to the Chiefs depleted O-line in calling plays in last year's Super Bowl, too. Sometimes coaches are just convinced that their shit is so magical that it will just work no matter what changes the opponent makes. The "don't let your opponent dictate what you do" mantra can get carried away if a coach lets it.Sparko wrote: ↑Thu Feb 17, 2022 10:05 am Mahomes went from throwing impossibly difficult bullet passes around defenders to half assed throws right at defenders. Re: Chiefs 2021
I think my main beef is that if you look like you took a dive on offense, changes need to be made. EB definitely looked over his head this year. Sadly, the NFL doesn't get a pass either. They do plenty to make fans believe they are rooting for one team over another. Trashing EB when you know he is being passed over again in a very delicate litigation environment is SOP. SO I am not sure where the Chiefs really are or went wrong. But Mahomes looked different and harmed his legacy with a lousy half of football.
Re: Chiefs 2021
Maybe if Mahomes doesn't throw two moronic INTs we aren't having this discussion.Sparko wrote: ↑Thu Feb 17, 2022 12:41 pm I think my main beef is that if you look like you took a dive on offense, changes need to be made. Re: Chiefs 2021
Remember: Mahomes also threw a pick six right away in overtime that was dropped. The whole thing is terrible. That game will be reviewed forever.

Re: Chiefs 2021
Serious question.
Which do you feel is the more true statement - The Chiefs offense was successful because of Matt Nagy or the Chiefs offense was successful despite Matt Nagy?

Re: Chiefs 2021
Well then remember Joe Burrow was sacked by Chris Jones for a 6 yard loss on third and long that would have resulted in a punt late in the 4th.
