What was wrong with 246? It’s not that uncommon a word…took four guesses but it wasn’t that difficult

NYT did lose my streak though!

I have never used tacit in a sentence in my life. Is it common in the legal field or something?
“Cacti” was my 6th guess.

The previous guess was habit, so my options were tacit or davit, but I thought the latter was too obscure.

It’s used a lot in legal circles and also elsewhere, but your point is well taken - it’s not a word one uses even day or even on a weekly basis. Same can be said for words like knoll….

That happened to me too. I also play the app Wordly which is generally a little harder and doesn't lose the streak. I try to use as many vowels as I can while ending with an s to rule out plurals on the first line. Yesterday I got lucky with two Ts and immediately solved the TACIT puzzle.

The average person ( American ) has said the word knoll in their life.
The average person has not said tacit.

As for 'tacit', personally I only knew it because of reading legal paperwork in the past. I have never used it, only read it.
