If Tom Brady was doing that this summer, people would lose their minds.
The people who dislike LeBron did so long before these comments. Come on man.

Re: Who is the GOAT
You don't think she plays a part in all this?
My guess is she has more influence over how this plays out than LeBron does when it comes to things like forcing him to play overseas or wherever instead of college like Q idiotically suggested. My guess is her influence is as great or greater than LeBron's inside that household when it comes to parenting.
Why would they stop being good parents and people now?

It’s prob moot, cuz especially at this point Bronny prob doesn’t think of himself as anything less than a top pro prospect either.BasketballJayhawk wrote: ↑Mon Feb 21, 2022 1:46 pmLet's stop pretending like Savannah James doesn't exist. She by all accounts is a fantastic parent, as is LeBron.Qusdahl wrote: ↑Mon Feb 21, 2022 1:28 pm And now I wonder whether Lebron would let his kid choose the path that he feels is best for himself, even if it is 4 years in college; or whether Lebron would helicopter parent his kid to some overseas or prep or other route more than anything for the sake of Lebron’s own wishes.
Some of this stuff is ridiculous.

But LeBron didn't say he "wants" to play with his son. That is a very different thing, and the saying of it is typical Bron.
He knows how much power he has - and for the fourth fucking time, I get it and good for him and I'd probably do the same thing and all that - but all I'm saying is that it's of a piece with how Bron has acted for the bulk of his career.
Narrowly, my only substantive points about the Bronny thing are: (1) it 100%, absolutely will result in Bronny being drafted higher than he would be drafted on merit alone, and (2) it's not hard to see a scenario where that's bad for Bronny's career. Fine!
My distaste for GM Bron is only tangentially related, and like I said, the way he goes about things just rubs me the wrong way as a fan. That opinion and the NBA minimum will get you Bron's services in a few years, apparently, so long as you draft Bronny.
Re: Who is the GOAT
He "will" only as long as a team is willing to draft Bronny and is also willing to sign LeBron.
LeBron will probably still be an NBA caliber player in 5 or 6 years unless he has some serious injuries. So if a team pairs them up then that's awesome. And if that team sucks because of it, and they actually care about winning, then that's on them.
It didn't bother me that the Morris twins openly said they wanted to play together and structured their contracts to make it more appealing on the Suns.

Nowhere have I said that it bothers me that Bron wants to play with Bronny. But call a spade a spade: it does manipulate Bronny's draft stock. It simply does.
And that is, once again, fine!

It's a stupid argument. Jordan COULD have averaged 40. Just as Kobe COULD have averaged 40. Would all depend on how many shots a game they took - and of course how many they made.BasketballJayhawk wrote: ↑Mon Feb 21, 2022 12:24 pm How come Kobe didn't?
How come Durant or Embiid don't?
Sounds like some fan boy shit to me.

Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

I think it's pretty well documented, and pretty obvious to anyone paying attention, that Savannah James is a fantastic mother. If you want to question her parenting ability, and motivations, because of petty grievances about LeBron James basketball career choices then go right ahead....jfish26 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 21, 2022 2:54 pmI've been alive long enough to not count on having any idea whether famous people are or are not good parents and/or people.BasketballJayhawk wrote: ↑Mon Feb 21, 2022 1:51 pmYou don't think she plays a part in all this?

Does it seem that far fetched that a married black couple could be fantastic parents even though the husband is a famous basketball player? That maybe LeBron is a loving father who wants what is truly best for his son?

Some of you are totally incapable of being unbiased when it comes to LeBron.
All he said was his last year will be played wherever his son plays. Assuming his son plays basketball, and assuming whichever team drafts his son agrees to sign LeBron. He can't force anyone to do anything they don't want to do.

LeBron and Savannah have been in the public spotlight for damn near 2 decades. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to discover they are good parents. It's well documented.
