That does seem odd, but this is the worst time of year to visit Seattle (weather wise). Combine that with the covid restrictions and there might be a weird scenario where people are visiting Seattle during the week for work and the weekend visitors are less than usual.

Queen Anne, Capital Hill and West Seattle are the hot spots. I personally like West Seattle the best. However, the West Seattle Bridge is still closed so avoid trying to get to West Seattle during rush hour. Total fucking nightmare.

I'm sure you already know this, but Bellevue sucks.

Doesn’t everyone do pink boxes for donuts? I haven’t seen them in anything other than pink boxes except at Krispy Kreme

The Denver airport is fine, except that it seems like one in four connections I have there requires a half-mile hike.

Most of my travel is work related so it’s just me. I actually like the walks so I can stretch the legs.

But, when traveling with others, it can be a little frustrating

Cruises are extremely cheap.

Worth it?

I would only go on a cruise if it was free and even then I'd give pause.

Sounds kinda awful.

I would love to do Alaska.

I have less than zero interest in a Caribbean/Mexico etc. cruise. Seems like all of the annoying parts of being at a resort, without the good parts.

I could be very wrong! People I like swear by cruises. It just does not seem like my jam.

i was just out of high school, which made me the youngest one on the boat by a wide margin…but it was still a blast

we cruised from Vancouver to Seward in September and stopped at the major ports along the Inner Passage…Ketchikan was my favorite by far, followed by Juno. we paid for one excursion, but largely just hiked around at the ports. a definite highlight was having our dinner table against the back windows of the dining room and seeing whales breaching while eating dinner

Valdez was a wasteland, largely abandoned after the spill there

if you’re going, it’s worthwhile to rent a car and spend some time in Denali…absolutely magnificent

i should also say that if i were to go again, i’d use the ferry system rather cruise

avoid places like Valdez while spending more time in places like Ketchikan

I have been on two Caribbean cruises. They are not my favorite, and I would rather just go to a beach locale.

But, they are very cheap, and are the type of trips that are going to be better if you choose to make a good time out of it.

Plus, some people really, really like them, and I say you do you especially when it comes to spending your own money. You want good weather, water, booze, convenient dining, activities, shows, not worrying about transportation, and a casino? You'll get that, with most of it being paid up front.

I can get all that at a resort and then decide, if I'm not into that scene that day, go somewhere else.
