I dont hate this country, but I like it a little less because of people like you.

Oh, and I don't have a boogeyman under my bed that I can pretend to follow to justify the shitty things I say or do.

More republican "winning":

Coast Guard families told they can have garage sales to cope with government shutdown

Employees of the U.S. Coast Guard who are facing a long U.S. government shutdown just received a suggestion: To get by without pay, consider holding a garage sale, babysitting, dog-walking or serving as a “mystery shopper.”

The suggestions were part of a five-page tip sheet published by the Coast Guard Support Program, an employee-assistance arm of the service often known as CG SUPRT. It is designated to offer Coast Guard members help with mental-health issues or other concerns about their lives, including financial wellness...

WTF does that have to do with anything? So you think blindly buying the con the President sells you makes you a good American? Were you not a good American when you thought the last President was full of shit?

Look at the absurd pic you just posted here. Everything about it is a lie yet you'll brush it off with a "yeah, but I agree with the message".

This whole notion that patriotism is blind support and faith is exactly the foolish lack of thought and attention that Trump identified as his path to the White House. A grifter identified his marks and has been grifting the country now for 2 years as a result.

He's definitely problematic as hell. But like someone said yesterday, impossible to know what would've happened with the alternative choice....so who knows.

I'm certainly not happy with how the current president is handling a lot of things. And I won't attempt to make excuses for trump's actions over this shutdown....none of our leaders are doing what's best for the American people right now. Right. Left. Middle. Inexcusable imo.

i do think, with high probability, that we’d be better off on a number of fronts had hillary been elected...namely, the environment, our standing on the global stage, and a less-devisive electorate. ANYONE (other than maybe david duke) would’ve handled charlottesville better. most ANYONE with any decency would’ve refrained from disparaging the families of our own veterans, or mocking disabled people.

We also might be in a war with Russia or North Korea.

She'd definitely be more presidential and lie much more effectively and discretely...but she's put her foot in her mouth plenty of times and said terrible things too. Superpredators. And disregarding sexual assault allegations against Bill. So they'd have some things in common too I'm sure.

I don't think trump will get another 4 years, so most likely we will survive this without any damage that can't be mostly reversed (other than the environment stuff).

I think the electorate would be even more divided. Cotton and Gowdy would have had never ending email hearings.

I do not have a problem with how Pelosi and Schumer are handling these negotiations at all. I feel that what they are offering is in the best interest of the american people. The only way you think it isn't is if you believe the bullshit narratives originating from the White House.

Yes. Agreed. But also the hardest to do quick damage to in 4 years. He can't fuck the environment up THAT bad. A lot of the stuff he's rolled back can be reimplemented the minute he's gone.
