Forgot all about him CnB. You're right. He's going to play a lot.

Re: Kansas Football 2022 Season
One name to watch for at WR is Kevin Terry. He transferred from Texas Tech last year as a walk-on and apparently was in line to play a lot of snaps until he suffered a pretty nasty injury in practice. Word on the injury was it was very similar to the Dak Prescott injury.
In addition to Gervin, the transfer from Ohio State will probably get plenty of snaps as well. Not sure if he slots in as more of a safety or a linebacker.
I'm intrigued to see if they have it figured out on how to use Gavin Potter. I think if they use him more like they used Kyron Johnson last year, that would maximize what he's good at it (straight line getting after the QB) and minimize what he doesn't do well (read plays as they develop and move in space).

So much for that unholy. Lance said Potter not with the team at the moment. Meaning he’s probably gone.

Potter or no Potter, and you guys know better than I, but I thought Rich Miller would be in line to play about every snap at LB.

Rich Miller and Gilyard are probably going to be the 2 main guys there. Young, from Ohio State will fill in as a hybrid role. Almost like a bigger nickel back, but stays in the box more. Wheeler, the former Michigan Wolverine will play a bit too. He came to KU late in the process and never quite got going. He's raw but athletic.

Sounds like Daniels is also banged up. Limiting his reps. Would like for him to get as many as possible but the injury doesn’t sound serious.
If he is cant say I’m sad to see Potter gone. Huge disappointment considering his hype when he came here. His tackling technique and lack of finish especially on a defense were plays like that were a premium he won’t be missed. I’m guessing the staff sat him down and told him they over recruited his position and that it might be best to look at other schools for PT.

I wonder what the injury is to Daniels. My boys and I went to the KU vs KSU basketball game last week. On our way we stopped at Chick-fil-a. We saw Daniels there, didn't see any issue with him walking. As we were leaving Bean came in also. Didn't realize there was only one Chick-fil-a in Lawrence.
Thanks for the info guys. I was going to come and ask if anyone knew anything about the first practice.

He did have a shoulder issue last year, if I'm not mistaken. Could be going through some treatment to let the muscles recover.nu_bronco wrote: ↑Tue Mar 01, 2022 1:39 pm I wonder what the injury is to Daniels. Re: Kansas Football 2022 Season
Some more details about spring ball.. I'm maybe a bit old school, but I absolutely LOVE that they practice at 6am and during the morning in the season too.
LAWRENCE, Kan. – It’s officially spring football season at the University of Kansas. Head Coach Lance Leipold kicked off his first spring practice with the Jayhawks at 6 a.m. Monday morning with the first of 15 up-tempo practices. Spring practice will culminate in exciting fashion at 1 p.m. on April 9 at David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium with the Kansas Football Spring Preview, where fans will get an up-close look at the 2022 Kansas Jayhawks on a day that will feature football and family fun.
Admission to the Spring Preview is free and no ticket required.
Memorial Stadium will be an exciting place to be during a picture-perfect time of year to feature the Jayhawks as they prepare for Leipold’s second season in 2022. Kansas fans are eagerly invited to attend and get an up-close look at the Jayhawks, while enjoying a day of fun.
On top of some good ol’ fashioned football, there will be no shortage of activities surrounding Memorial Stadium on a day loaded with family activities.
Fan activities and events scheduled for the day include:
The Kids Zone: Located on the team’s practice field, the Kids Zone will open at 11 a.m., and will consist of inflatables and interactive games. It will stay open until 1 p.m.
Live Music: There will be live music at the bottom of The Hill from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
Surplus Sale: Kansas Athletics will also host a Surplus Sale on the east side of the stadium, giving fans a chance to purchase KU surplus apparel and equipment. There will be early access for Williams Education Fund members at 8 a.m., and the sale will open to the public at 9 a.m. and be available throughout the day.
A full schedule of events for a day full of family fun and football will be released in the coming weeks.

So it's going to be interesting if/when we learn what happened with Potter. How did he go from, 10 days ago, being one of the players calling people about season tickets to now the buzz being he is out of here.

Also said they are still developing Bean as a QB but open to doing things to fit the concept of being multiple. I think this is the best move. We're better off coaching up Bean and having a reliable backup quarterback. If he moved to WR and Daniels got hurt, we'd be in deep trouble. And when you've been as bad as we have been, that margin for error is zero.

Re: Kansas Football 2022 Season
Yeah Bean is too good of an athlete not to play. If he can get the ball in space, he'll be really damn good. I would imagine we see him as a slot WR sometimes but will still mostly be a backup QB to Daniels.

Re: Kansas Football 2022 Season
I think Meier showed you can balance being a backup QB and play snaps at WR. For much of 2007 season, Meier was practicing with QB's, not WR's. It also seems true that the prep for QB's and WR's kind of overlaps.
I think there is a good argument that Bean is the fastest player on the team. And, in football, it seems pretty silly not to use that game to game.

Don’t mind it. Different seats and not those cushy recliners. Should be a more fun atmosphere down there then what it was before.

For sure, especially since now tickets are available to the general public, not just season ticket holders/WEF members.
