This team has some major holes and a low floor, but if we you want to look at the bright side, it does have some ingredients needed for an unexpected tournament run:

Good, experienced guards.
Ability to put up a ton of points.
Bill Self.

2nd round exit of Final Four--neither would be some big mystery to me.

Yea. We’re absolutely capable of wining 4-6 games in a row.

We’ve never had much of that Cinderella luck in the tournament, tho.

That sort of serendipity seems more for the Davids than the Goliaths.

i would love nothing more than for Och to go all Kemba Walker in the tourney
Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

I wouldn't take advice from a guy who pretends like hes a woman with a baby so he can get on a lifeboat.

Kansas starts the season 9-1 including a strong opening win v Michigan State and a blowout of MIZZOU.
Remy, Ochai and DMac take the Big 12 by storm, going 16-2, with all 3 preseason 1st teamers landing on the final 1st team -- but with Ochai Agbaji surprisingly winning the POY.

The Jayhawks have two nail biters to open the NCAA tournament but then find their ground, beating Duke in the Elite Eight behind a 30 point DMac night, and avenging one of their B12 losses in the NCAA Final v Texas.

Realistic I'll take it scenario:

KU goes 8-2 in non con, dropping to St John's and Colorado. They struggle a bit out of the gate, starting 1-2 in B12 play, but end up clenching the league at 13-5 on senior night v Texas.

They end up loosing in the B12 tournament and Texas wins giving them the highest 2 seed, but getting sent to Philly, where Nova has the 1. Sparko is justified in the E8 game v Nova when DMac picks up 2 phantom fouls in the first 4 minutes, and KU looses by 3.
Mix of this.
Replace Duke with Nova, E8 with FF and 30 with 25.
