I wouldn't want to be the 1 seed in Philly with Nova.
As far as Purdue, I actually think we match up well with them.
Watched them at home v Indiana before our game and they didn't look scary - they aren't a good defensive team.

UnholyLivingDead wrote: Mon Mar 07, 2022 10:21 am Let's play a quick round of Would You Rather? as it pertains to the conference tournament results then.

Would rather KU wind up as a #2 seed in somewhere closer to Lawrence, most likely Chicago

or

Would rather KU cement their case as #1 seed and wind up in Philadelphia, but potentially get the easiest #4 seed with Providence, who would be in the 30s in Kenpom while the other #4 seeds would be in the 16-20 range?
Latter, no question. Geography is overrated to me in the tourney unless they are going to put us in Kansas City for every single game. The 7-seeds and 3-seeds can pick us off very easily. Who wants any part of Purdue as a 3-seed?
For the record, I completely agree with you.
I generally agree on geography, but I'd add that geography can absolutely hurt you if you're higher (better) seed playing on a worse team's home turf.

UCLA in San Jose!!!!! ;)

Nova at Wells Fargo would suck, but a couple of things: 1. Nova probably a 3, and 2. We could play in Allen and still would lose to Nova.

Man, I would not be surprised by us just coming out limp Thursday and packing for wherever our 2 seed takes us. Low energy gym, low energy team.

If it's kstate, it's going to be some good energy there. If it's West Va, blah.

Which isn't much different from any other game day with this team.

Never know what you're going to get it seems like.

Oklahoma is not getting in without winning the Big 12 tournament. They are 3-11 in Quad 1 games and have a Quad 3 loss.

Part of me wishes we were just locked into the 2 line and could punt Thursday. Our guys looked gassed last week.

I read somewhere that Self hasn’t gone more than 3 tournaments without winning one.

There are good reasons to win this one. This team hasn't had a good stretch of basketball in months. Maybe since December.

We are technically locked in the 2 line. As-in, we can't be any worse than a 2....

Always want to win. Although, I wouldn't be terribly upset if we rested Dave's foot and had a go without him for the big xii tourney

We can still rest Dave and pick up a win or two.

Clearly, we plan to just play him through it. That's fine if that's what the docs say. But, if we are going to do that, then I am honestly sick of Bill bringing it up at every presser. Just sounds like excuse making.

Bill won't play small this year... I don't get it.

We have the ability to play 5 shooters, spread the floor, and play uptempo.... All the while resting Dave...
