Re: Arms
What kinda arms are best for ducks?
Gotta be a 12 gauge right?
And I think you’re supposed to use steel shot for waterfowl.
But come on you guys let’s knock off the duck hunt talk, oreadical like JUST returned!

12...sometimes 20.....yes steel, lead shot is illegal for waterfowl

Re: Arms
Depends on the ducks. Big ones (mallards, pintail, etc.), yes, 12-gauge. Those things are tanks.
For smaller ducks, like varieties of teal, you're better off with a 20-gauge, something with easier swing.

Re: Arms
not to derail, but anyone still using lead shot deserves to be shot
Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?
Re: Arms
steel shot leads to more wounded...but not killed, birds. Its harder, but less dense. Fires more projectiles in the shell than lead and leads to a wider, less accurate pattern.KUTradition wrote: ↑Wed Mar 09, 2022 9:13 am not to derail, but anyone still using lead shot deserves to be shot
But yes, can't use it in any waterways

I prefer incendiary rounds.
Nothing more fulfilling than watching that mallard start smoking, eventually bursting into flames, then spiraling toward the crash site

That does sound efficient…kill ‘em and grill ‘em!
Can you get incendiary rounds that have the seasonings right in there with them too? Maybe a dry rub, or even a marinade?
