Pretty bird...not as pretty as a Jayhawk, but pretty nonetheless.

I thought the blue footed booby was endangered, but I'm glad to see they list the population as stable!

The blue color comes from the fish they eat. Same reason that pink flamingos are pink...if you feed them a different diet, that pigmentation goes away.

The bluer the feet the healthier that blue footed booby looks to a potential mate, so the blue feet are also sexually selected for.
