At this point, I’m not sure what discovery would uncover that the authorities (hopefully) have not already tracked down.
And, of course there is the PR battle to think about, so maybe some more allegations start leaking out now that the criminal stuff is over, but beyond DeShaun self-incriminating himself, it seems he may be in the clear here from a PR perspective.
I don’t follow. The police don’t have to show the cards they had. I’d think the likelihood of bad facts coming out would increase exponentially in the case of full-fledged civil litigation.
Plaintiffs would have had no reason to not leak their bad facts already or not act in good faith with authorities.
If I remember correctly, the entire thing started out with the filing of the suits. I can’t even imagine there is video out there, bc we would have seen it already.
The police investigation is now available to public through sunshine request. So we will see it all soon, but given there was no reason for plaintiffs not to leak everything from the beginning, the bad facts not uncovered seem more likely to be unfavorable to plaintiffs. We shall see.
