If Wayne Selden couldn't be an NBA player then there isn't a chance in hell TGF can. TGF couldn't even impact games on an average Kansas team.
As for KU, I wouldn't mind having a guy like that available rather than the Wichita and Kansas City high school all star teams.

Fortunately, everything crim is worthless!

Sans crimscores, you are correct.
Re: 21-22 lineup
i was really worried about our offense in the tourney, but if Remy can bring that change of pace and create some instant offense 2-3 mins per half, we have a much better chance of making a nice run.
Re: 21-22 lineup
He takes shots that he shouldn’t but he gets fast points. And he seems committed to expending energy on defense now. Definitely an asset for the upcoming Madness.
Re: 21-22 lineup
IMO, perhaps our biggest issue is going through scoring droughts. play Remy for 5 mins and problem solved, mostly. he got us quick succession points when we were drifting through the 2nd half today.

Re: 21-22 lineup
The problem with depending on Remy for instant offense is that he isn't especially efficient. 49% from 2pt and 34% from 3pt career shooting percentages.
For instance Och is 53% 2pt and 38% 3pt. Braun is 51% 2pt and 38% 3pt.
Still think our instant offense should come from Och. And also Dave. And also CB and JW. Our team is pretty solid offensively tbh.
But we need Remy to play well too. We don't need him trying to be a star, but he can be a great support piece for the next 6 (hopefully) games.

Re: 21-22 lineup
I agree it was his knee.
But without the injury I still doubt he would be one of our best 3 players.
He was getting pulled early and often in the non con because of lapses in judgment on both ends of the court.
He’s locked in now.
He will be a wild card off our bench.

Re: 21-22 lineup
Ya. I don't think the majority of his struggles were due to his knee. It lasted most of the season. And he wasn't missing a bunch of games. He just was messing up and getting yanked it seemed like.pdub wrote: ↑Sun Mar 13, 2022 8:57 am I agree it was his knee.

Bill not exactly covering himself in glory here, really.
After the first round of on-court celebrations had subsided, Self doubled down on just how big this tournament was for Martin.
“I don’t know that I anticipated him playing that many minutes,” Self began. “But now that he has, it will certainly give me more confidence to know that we can go that direction and ride with it.”

Re: 21-22 lineup
the biggest thing about remy is he has been absolutely locked in on defense lately. he knows he has to if he wants to play, and its not like he has to carry this team on offense. so its the first time in his career he's bought in on defense like this. although he isn't ever going to be a great defender, he is out there hustling his ass off and using his quickness to try to be disruptive and a pest on the ball handler. and where he did really good was using his quickness to deny his man from catching the ball

Re: 21-22 lineup
remy staying locked in on defense affords him some extended minutes. offensively he is doing a decent job of looking to run the offense first and picking his spots to use his quickness to get some buckets when we need someone to make a play
I like this version of remy weve seen this past weekend

If he’s able to be an asset in the tourney after what he’s been through this season, it’s a testament to his talent and work ethic.
Re: 21-22 lineup
fair, but i wasn't really thinking he'd be the one shooting. the instant offense yesterday was beating everyone up the floor and dishing to ochai, as Remy did several times in a row.BasketballJayhawk wrote: ↑Sun Mar 13, 2022 8:34 am The problem with depending on Remy for instant offense is that he isn't especially efficient. 49% from 2pt and 34% from 3pt career shooting percentages.

as i said, we go through scoring droughts and for as great as och has been this year, i just don't have the confidence as w/ other guys, e.g. frank/marcus/sherron, etc.
