Browns get Amari for just a 5th round pick.
But they gotta pay his 20 million dollar salary.
Fingers crossed the Browns now release Jarvis Landry. He'd be interesting in KC i think. Not the guy we 'need' but could be interesting.

Well Landry could be cut.
So his next contact could be a one year deal.
I think he’s better than his numbers as Baker has underwhelmed.

Looks like we could be after JuJu Schuster again.

Schuster was linked to us last season and he had 129 yards this season.

His price tag will be reduced.

Tom Brady decided he’s coming back. Announced on Twitter.

Whoa.

Instead of re-signing Tyrann Mathieu, the Chiefs instead decided to sign Justin Reid the former Texans safety to a three-year, $31.5 deal.

Also Ward heads to the 49ers for three years, $42 million, $26.7 mil. guaranteed.

Really like the Reid signing. Willing run defender, athletic enough to play free safety. Kind of a do it all guy. A cheaper, younger Mathieu.

Ward isn’t worth the $14M per year IMO. Not enough turnovers created to get that money. But some team was going to pay him that, so good for him.

So 10.5/year for Reid.
You'll get a comp pick from Mathieu and he'll probably sign somewhere for 17/year for 3 years.
Before this year, I thought Mathieu was irreplaceable but he kinda took a step down.

I'd still much prefer him back but at his age, maybe you let him sign somewhere else, save 6 mill, and get a late 3rd round pick instead.

Ward was good but not that $$ good.

Clark restructures.
He's still way overpaid but from what I understand, the difference in cap from his contract now and releasing him is just under 2 million dollars.
So not worth the money ( what a dumb ass signing ) but all things considered, you wouldn't get a Frank Clark for 2 million.

Yeah I think Mathieu gets around $15M per. But I do think his value went down a bit with some poor play after his first few games.

If it's 15 mill per for 3, I think that I might have reached for that, depending on the structure, unless there's something I don't know.

As far as Frank Clark, Chiefs should have had Montez Sweat, LJ Collier or Rock Ya Sin, Bryan Edwards and 20 extra million dollars to work with right now.

Yeah, he was pretty banged up by the end of the year and that led to some seriously questionable attempts at tackling more than a few times.

Here are some more details on Reid. Seems like he's a great athlete and an excellent addition to the KC community as well. And he was mentored by Mathieu his rookie season in Houston.

Reid was really good from 2018-2020. Had a bit of a down year last year. But Chiefs hoping a change of scenery on a better team will help.

He can play in the box, free, can do some things on slot receivers too and is a emotional leader. The Chiefs literally got a Mathieu-like safety and leader.

If you were on the dumpster fire that is Houston, you mighta had a down year too.
Could be good value.
