Yes, it's entertaining. I've loved posting in game threads for a lot of years. Others see things I don't. Hopefully, I bring something. It's one thing to be critical of a player when they make a mistake, I have, but it's another to call them trash. Doyel has a long history of the latter.

Pdub had enough and stopped it for a while. I fully support this.

The "very long time" part is relevant. We know now that doyel's purpose here isn't to rile people up, and this place has plenty of those types that freely walk around. We just disagree with doyel's pessimistic, off-the-cuff takes. If you've been a KU fan long enough, and both of us have, we all have a doyel in our KU friends group. We routinely tell that guy to shut the hell up, but I'm not going to oust that guy while letting trolls infiltrate and hang around. Especially if I am a dumbass moderator that preaches being a "freedom of speech" warrior without knowing a damn thing about what that actually means.

If he only did the former, he would have been gone long ago. We have 2 decades worth of posts to know that he has multiple personality disorder when it comes to KU: game threads vs non game threads. Doyel is a humongous KU-homer. A guy like MICH shits on everything KU with much more regularity and in all threads. And yet I still think MICH should be allowed to stick around.

This is a fair point and if the one hour thing is true, I agree it's less egregious.

But this is also the national tournament and to the board's credit, some people really like coming here, and have good reasons for doing so. You said yourself that you liked and needed these game threads for your own reasons. I think doyel needs these game threads, too, maybe for different reasons and certainly a different style. We were all on edge during the 2nd half of that game last night.

I didn't see any of doyel's posts, but even if he literally called a KU player a piece of shit, the precedent is that is allowed.

I enjoyed reading the game thread v Texas Southern. Of course it helps if KU is destroying teams. But there was also something missing from the thread. Last night the gamethread was back to "normal" and with us struggling and Creighton shooting lights out, I just wasn't feeling it. We immediately went on a run. I needed a break.

But that's how you use small ball. To change things up, throw the other team off. It's like playing a zone, the other team isn't prepared for it. But it doesn't become your base set. If they game plan for small ball we just get outrebounded and give up layups. But it's great to use in spots.

Self went away from it as soon as they brought Feazell back in. He was worried about matching up with a big who scores 3ppg. I think that's dumb. Our run immediately stopped and Creighton came back.
