Marquez Valdes-Scantling is visiting KC today as well, he could be an option to at least start to fill that void. Get a haul of draft picks, maybe a WR or edge rusher in return. I'd guess multiple first round picks isn't out the question for Hill so possible get up high enough in the first round this year to take on of the better WRs.

If they do it is a real confidence boost in Mecole. Then go put and get another burner. A stellar route runner might even be more important though

Bleacher Report says the Jets and Dolphins are the ones interested.

For a guy who relies almost solely on speed, that could be an expensive cap hit for a guy who has missed some games for soft tissue issues. He hasn't been the healthiest guy that the Chiefs have had.
I think it is both true that the Chiefs, or any team, probably can't give Hill that large of a contract, but also that it definitely hurts the Chiefs in the short term taking him out of that offense.

Good defenses took him out of the offense many times anyway. And injuries.

Well this sucks short term - definitely if we think we can compete this year or next.
If he can't accept top 5 WR money to continue a career in KC well, what a fuckwad Tyreek Hill is.

I'm not a fan of the guy, but he completely changes defensive gameplans.

If we can get lucky in this draft with a WR from the picks we get, we could quickly win this deal.
Depends on what we get for Hill.

This has apparently been working fast behind the scenes for a couple days and sounds like it's going to happen. I would hope multiple first round picks plus a player.

We have another year of Hill under contract plus we could franchise him x2.
So you hold out until you get a sweet deal.
Talking a 1st for sure. Then a 2nd and a 4th. Something like that.

Not sure if you can get multiple 1sts.
Though, with Miami's pick so late, maybe you can get their 1st this year and their 1st next.

Hill has never restructured - Mahomes, Kelce, Jones have.
Chasing them $$.

If it's Miami, they have the 29 pick just ahead of KC at 30 so maybe you could get this year and the next. The Jets probably not so much since they have the #4 pick this year. But would you take a 2022 and 2023 first round pick plus Will Fuller from Miami?

Yes.
That 1st from Miami next year I expect to be around 14-17.
Fuller can provide some of the speed gone from Hill ( but his hands are worse and he's an injury waiting to happen ).

The Jets have a 10th round pick.
You could land almost any WR you want.
Then i'd want a couple day 2 picks as well.

Chiefs have several 3rd picks this year to move around too.

I am a cup 3/5 full guy on Hill, but his antics and health make him a risk. I have faith in non scripted Mahomes to hit good receivers. And bolster a young defense. I also want a cornerback.

I agree. To be fair, I pulled Will Fuller's name out of thin air here just for the sake of conversation. Guy was stud playing with Deshaun Watson so putting him in an offense with Mahomes, Kelce, and Smith-Schuster couldn't be a bad thing. Then the potential signing of Valdez-Scantling gives you another speed option.

Conversation I just had with a co-worker. Is $20M OK if you get to play with Mahomes or are you happy getting top dollar but play with Zach Wilson or Tua. Definitely a tough decision. Go get the bag, all the time. But I think you can get a good bag and still be set up for good success.

He was going to get plenty of money.
Winning isn't important to him as that bag.
Not that surprising though.

He's already had multiple things that could have derailed his career. But didn't and the Chiefs specifically stuck with him after the 2nd incident. Get the money while you can.

Reports are Chiefs want a 1 and a 2. Jets and Dolphins seem to be only teams in it.

Dolphins don't have a 1st this year. Jets do at 10.
