Not that consequential final four over/unders:

Yes minutes .5
CB T’s 1.5
Remy being way affectionate and Self giving him the CoyDC: 2.5
Number of times a cheerleader has to get the ball off the top of the backboard: 6.5
Number of Jalen rebounds: a bajillon
Number of coach commentary in the studio from Scott Drew: sucks
Number of times the announcers mention K during the first game: 37.5
Number of beers ous is gonna drink on mass st in no small part to make up for that that last shit: 38.5
Odds ous gets too drunk and ends up at the outhouse by halftime: ok let’s not do anything silly

also does anyone know if they're showing the game at the outhouse?

Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

2. Kansas (No. 1 seed, Midwest champ)

Kansas has gotten to the Final Four without putting together a complete 40 minutes of its best basketball in the tournament, which should scare the other three remaining teams in the field. Until a strong game in the Elite Eight against Miami, Jayhawks All-American Ochai Agbaji was having a quiet tourney, averaging just 10.3 points in his first three games before going for 18 against the Hurricanes. Kansas struggled mightily with a shorthanded Creighton team in the round of 32, then looked woeful on the offensive end against Providence and trailed by six at halftime against the Canes.

Regardless of whether it has looked pretty, the bottom line is this: the Jayhawks have found ways to win all year. Remy Martin has emerged in the tournament as a key bench scorer, and Christian Braun is a capable Robin to Agbaji’s Batman. This is a team with no clear holes—strong on the glass, steady on defense, sure-handed with the ball and explosive enough on offense to beat elite teams. And with a relatively deep bench featuring plenty of role players who possess diverse skill sets, KU is well-equipped to adjust to the personnel of its opponent. That’s a valuable tool to have in March.

Boy do they ever.

And making a final 4 has been tremendous for the legacy of guys like DH Dave and Mitch. No longer can the "you can't make a final four w/ players like that" comments live on.

What a fantastic season this has been. And the jobs not done like Kobe would say. We might as well win 2 more and really blow people's minds.

It's obviously satisfying whenever KU makes a final 4....but this is about as satisfying of a final 4 that I can remember because these are all multi year college players, all except Remy and JCL are multi year KU guys who we have seen slowly evolve individually and also together.

Having so many games under their belt together has been a big benefit to Och CB JW Dave Mitch and DH.

I believe we can do this. Pulling off a national title this year would be incredible when you think about some of the GREAT Kansas teams who couldn't get the job done.

David McCormack was a McDonald's All-American and our highest rated recruit on this team.

Mitch and Dajuan combine for 10 ppg.

What in the world are you trying to sell now to shit on KU fans?

Too long to post, but a pretty good article from 538. Interesting to note (and will make tradition's pants tighter), KU has the best defense remaining in the field.

Kansas Doesn't Need A Storyline To Keep Winning

There are plenty of folks in Lawrence, Kansas — and even a pundit or two — who believe the cancellation of the 2020 men’s NCAA Tournament due to the COVID-19 pandemic cost the Jayhawks a championship. Today, coach Bill Self still feels that the unit was “the best team in the country.”

Twenty-four months later, Self and more than half of his 2019-20 roster have the Jayhawks in the national semifinal with the opportunity to claim the program’s fourth national championship and the coach’s second. FiveThirtyEight’s model gives the Jayhawks a tournament-best 41 percent chance to win the 2022 title.

Expectation doesn’t ring as loudly as surprise — Kansas, the lone No. 1 seed left standing, had the second-best odds of any team to reach this point, according to the FiveThirtyEight pre-tournament model. So it is that the favorite to cut down the nets is the fourth-most-talked-about team entering the Final Four, or as ESPN’s Myron Medcalf succinctly put it, perhaps the least sexy storyline left. Kansas has been so dominant on the hardwood for so long that the Jayhawks became the winningest college basketball team of all time during the tournament, and it resulted in little more than a Twitter bio edit (and not even Kansas’s!).

I love that Bill Self is still seething over getting his ass handed to him by Jay Wright in his last F4 game. Mentioned that game in the Chicago locker room after Providence.

I know why he would, but nobody was beating that Villanova team that night. The defensive plan could have been a bit better, sure, but they hit EVERYTHING too. Making 18 3s while shooting 40 of them is insane. They were clearly the better team.

But we're clearly the better team on Saturday. Have to win it and don't let any doubt creep in.

Hopefully it's a repeat from when Chalmers and Arthur went into their matchup with something to prove after Wright left them off the USA team.

That Nova team is right up there with the best of any team of the 21st Century. Might be the best.

I am not shitting on anyone. I am praising our players. They have earned this ON the court. This is a happy week.

Many KU fans, and often times rightfully so, were critical of DH Dave and Mitch specifically. They questioned whether we could make final fours or win national championships with those guys. Questioned whether Self was being stubborn again.

And what happened? They went out and made the final 4 (not to mention winning the big 12 regular season AND big 12 tournament in a TOUGH big 12).

There is not much better in sports than when a team goes out and earns their legacy on the court by winning. Especially when it's a likeable group who could possibly be considered over achievers.

This Jayhawk team is a lot of what is still good about college sports. Mitch Lightfoot is college sports. Dave. DH. All so easy to root for despite them not being future NBA all stars.

That's just not true.

Every team is going to have role players. And KU fans know better than just about any that you can make Final Fours with walk-ons as role players.

Do I think you can win a national championship with Dave, Mitch, and Dajuan as your best starters? No, I don't. But that is a very, very different statement.

Dave Mitch and DH were never our best starters and that was never the narrative.

Enjoy the week. I am happy for our players and fans. Only 4 teams get to experience this each year.

Correct. There also was never any narrative that you can't make a Final Four with Dave, Mitch, or Harris on your team.

There were serious questions as to whether this team would make a Final Four and Harris and Dmac's limitations in the regular season (as well as the status of Remy's health and play) were the primary reasons for those questions. But there's a big difference between "would" and "could".

Any team that makes the tourney "could" make a Final Four; fewer are reasonably predicted to do so based on how they perform in the late stages of the regular season. Kansas looked like a Round of 32/Sweet Sixteen team at a few points late in the season but the bracket broke KU's way and Remy is performing at a level that we didn't see in the regular season.

And I fully agree with you regarding cheering for guys like Mitch, DMac and Harris. It was surreal to see Mitch Lightfoot slapping that Kansas name onto the bracket to advance to the Final Four. It was also great to see DMac get 22 and 10 to lock up the Big 12 regular season title, 18 and 11 to win the Big 12 tourney title and then have 15 clutch points in just 18 minutes, including that "Let you nuts hang" and-one against Miami to advance to a Final Four. What an awesome finish to his senior season he is having.

Yes there was.

Can't. Wouldn't. Those words were used.
