It would bring much more fans downtown to help support the PnL (depending on where the stadium is put of course). I love going to baseball games in other cities (Twins, Cardinals) and being downtown and seeing the skyline instead of cars passing on a freeway.

KC also needs to figure out a way to get an NBA team (Pelicans?).
Downtown baseball is an outstanding idea. And, it's easier for me to swallow the public helping out because that is like 90-100 events per year downtown.

What I think everyone is grumbling about is the inevitable fact that the Chiefs are going to build an entertainment district like the PnL, right next to their stadium, and seek public tax dollars for it. It would only be open for games, etc.
Not sure I agree about it not being open. I think they’re shooting for something like The Battery in Atlanta.
My hesitance is wondering how the place can afford the operating costs without a good way to get people out there on a daily basis.

I think that's what's also a big barrier to getting the World Cup.

And thus we arrive at Fish's unifying theory of Kansas City: we will always spend ~75% of what The Real Thing costs, and in so doing we will obtain ~25% of the supposed benefit of The Real Thing.

I like being able to get in and out of the sports complex. There is nothing wrong at all with where the teams are at. But you can smell the speculators selling rubes on the 75% solution.

If money weren't as big an issue to the tax payers ( and I know that it is ) the ideal solution is what they are spinning.

Downtown Royals park.
Tear down Kauffman, build new Arrowhead Stadium there.
Make that area more welcoming to people who want to spend a day or two there.

i’ve long thought that one or both stadiums need a retractable roof. i don’t see KC ever hosting a SB with Arrowhead the way it is
Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

No.
Though i'd argue snow and rain should be part of football.
Also, the Truman complex is currently a nightmare for masses of visiting fans.

If Chiefs don't land a WR with their 1st two picks, and Christian Watson falls to them with their 2nd rounders, I'd take a chance with him.

I'd put em over but just barely.
They are a worse team than they were last year ( 12 wins ) without Tyreek ( and likely without Mathieu ) and the AFC West got substantially tougher.
I see em at 11 but I wouldn't take that bet.

I'd take the over but.....
If God forbid Mahomes gets injured, there is a really good chance you'll miss that 401K.
Just sayin'.

Chiefs have the hardest schedule in the NFL.

1. Kansas City Chiefs
2. New York Jets
3. Los Angeles Rams
4. San Francisco 49ers
5. Las Vegas Raiders

Correction- TODAY they MAY have the hardest schedule in the NFL “on paper”.

The methodology used above is based on current betting markets.
I'd wager, come January, we'll still finish in the top 10 of toughest schedules, more likely top 5.

What you’re saying is the chiefs are a worse team if Mahomes gets hurt and misses games??

Build a new baseball field downtown, tear down the K and make it a parking lot for Arrowhead but require the Chiefs to cap all parking at a max of $20.

What I am saying is..... My guess is you are smart enough not to bet your 401K on an over/under and you were joking.

Soooo where would the Chiefs go if they went KCK? Legends area..? South of Olathe..?

I don't think they'll move at all. I think they'll just adjust without The K there and put some restaurants and a hotel or 2 down there too to help with those who travel from out of town.
