I mean, I get it, but TCU was kind of a nasty team. Should have beat 1 seed Arizona. That was a tough ass opponent. That was our last loss. Kind of glad we got it done on March 1st and not March 31 or whatever, ya know.kubowler99 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 04, 2022 8:35 am From where this team was on March 1st to where it is today is, in a word, astounding.

Re: Christian Braun
TCU was the best team we have seen in the last several weeks. Were really playing defense.
Re: Christian Braun
What's crazy to me is that Nova ended the game with the same number of threes as Kansas so it's not like we went out there and were a +33 from three on them like they were on us in '18.CrimsonNBlue wrote: ↑Sun Apr 03, 2022 5:50 pmWe did to Villanova what teams have done to us.Back2Lawrence wrote: ↑Sun Apr 03, 2022 5:48 pmDon’t forget Harris’ pressure on D and unusual offensive production….and Wilson on them boards.
7/10 from 3 at one point?
CB’s dagger fadeaway.
That’s the shit we usually have to deal with.

It was the most combined 3's made in Final Four history.
The previous record was 2018 Villanova vs. Kansas.

Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

Re: Christian Braun
Can you imagine what a prick he would be out there if he chose to come back and "be more aggressive" like Agbaji?
So fun.
Re: Christian Braun
Braun will probably strike while the iron is hot, but I really think he might be better off staying another year; dude would be an All-American and he could work on that slow-and-low jump shot that I'm sure the NBA-types will hammer him about.

Re: Christian Braun
Agreed.
He's a unqiue case. Because he's not being looked at as a prospect to be "the" guy on an NBA team or even a top 2 or 3 player similar to how Och is.
Och really benefitted from coming back and getting to be "the guy". Both from actual in game aggression standpoint, as well as mindset standpoint.
CBs best NBA traits are defensive versatility, passing ability, and rebounding/athletic ability. All things he can improve upon in the NBA even while not playing a huge role initially. If he were being looked at as a major scoring contribuor, i think that's a little harder to develop while spending the vast majority of the time on the bench.
I think he's in a win win spot. I don't think he will hurt his stock by coming back or miss his window of opportunity. And I also think he won't kill his long term NBA chances by going now, even if he is a year or two away from truly being ready to step on the floor in the NBA with the increase in talent.
It's pretty freaking awesome he has this decision to make. 18 months ago I am not sure any of us would have expected this.
Whatever he decides to do, it's been so much fun watching him grow as a player.

As CnB mentioned though, the “win win” of it is blunted some if Bill has to sit.BasketballJayhawk wrote: ↑Tue Apr 12, 2022 6:13 amAgreed.

Re: Christian Braun
Very true, from the basketball side of things.
But there is also the "being a college kid" side of things, which CB really seems to relish. Hard to quantify, ESPECIALLY at a place like KU. He stays one more year and he could be hanging next to Och in the rafters. That means more to some than others, so very hard to factor that in without some insight from CB.
And (if Self does get a 1 year ban) maybe he says "hey coach, don't worry, I got you. I will lead the team this year to repay you for the opportunity you've given me". How cool would that be!?!

Braun MAY be the most Duke like player KU has had in a long time - and yet KU fans (such as myself) love him. Go figure.
