Ukraine has plenty of problems (as does just about every single country on earth). I think we are all well aware.

But Ukraine isn't a threat in the same way Russia is.

or on their flags

or in their elected officials' offices, and painted on the sides of officials' cars

or brings literal nazis to meetings with foreign parliaments

then once you do that, please explain why the best course of action here is, and has been, heavily arming these sorts of characters with weapons paid for by none other than you and me.

Despite my sustained attempts to try and bring any context or critical analysis of this clusterfuck, and getting absolutely nowhere beyond being repeatedly met with only the gaslighting and blanket dismissals and "this is just good vs bad you gotta pick a side," you actually succeeded in advancing the entire "good vs bad" side of the argument, to one of simple semantics.

Q only wishes he got the discussion to progress as far as "define legitimate democracy."

a few thoughts:

- if that's the likely future of Ukraine "given the tension of long-term tensions with Russia," you'd think they and we would collectively want to avoid long-term tensions with Russia, and broker peace sooner than later, please?

- I'm not sure what he means by distinguishing armed forces in cinemas and supermarkets with an actual "autocracy." Cuz that shit sounds like, pretty authoritarian, don't it?

- either way, this sounds like politician talk for ushering in some sorta right wing militant ethno-nationalist state, don't it? Is THAT a legitimate democracy?
