I know many will stamp their feet and insist this cannot possibly be true, but: in five years, pledge drive banners will be background noise, not any more meaningful to posters than avatars or crimbucks, or gts, or game threads. Pledge drive banners will just be part of the fabric, and everything will be ok.

At some point, you really need to deal with the very, very real distinction between (1) being called a racist (which has not happened), and (2) being asked to confront the obvious race/class/power issues that are simply a part of the NIL/pay for play conversation (which has happened).

Or, I guess, you can ignore that very, very real distinction. If that's more convenient to whatever it is your point ends up being.

I get your point about impact, and demographics of those most hurt by the old rules...but i think most of us, probably almost all of us, know pdub isn't racist.

You could neutralize that entire side of things pretty easily. You would just need to acknowledge that the system as it exists is disproportionately unfavorable to Black kids that don't come from money.

cuz it's obviously the mod's prerogative to do shit like that. But, I mean, come on bro...could you at least set it up so I get notifications for a better thread than that shit?
