Would you give up your 2nd 4th round pick ( 135 ) for Jalen Reagor?
Another dangerous weapon with elite speed, former 1st round pick, coming up on 3rd year in the league.
I would definitely consider it but........
Who/what will the Chiefs draft in the earlier rounds would obviously have a strong bearing.
A lot of WR that are "dangerous" will be available.
I know no one is perfect but if you trade for him, then you get this crap.....

Yea.
I wouldn’t give up a 2nd for him.
But either of our 4ths, I would.
I don’t think anyone will give the Eagles anything better than a low 3rd for what he’s shown…but for a fourth I’d roll the die and blame some of it on Hurts.
Sometimes, moreso than many other positions, WRs need a change of scenery. Play calling, offensive scheme, and QB performance impact their ability to play well significantly.
The measuring stick for this was a bit crude/noisy (career receiving yards), but, over the last 33 drafts...
...the first WR off the board was the best in his class 18% of the time; and
...>50% of the time, the best guy in the class was not in the first five WR picks in his class.
In other words...you'd better be damn sure if you move up to draft a WR.

I was thinking about the math myself wondering what the risk was. This sounds right. After Bolton and Humphreys last year--I am a believer in letting the scouts get an affordable four-year player.
Jameson Williams would have very likely been the top wideout and his price had dropped significantly from the injury but now it's back up to the point where we'd need to trade up for him.
And I don't know if that's worth the price.
I'm hoping Watson falls into the 2nd and we do some moving to land him.

I would be perfectly content if the only trading the Chiefs do is to get out of picks this year in exchange for better picks next year. Will someone give us a 3rd next year for a 4th and two 7ths this year? For example.
If the Chiefs want to do the "the window's always open" thing, then having as many Boltons and Humphreys and Gays and Fentons and Sneeds and so on...is the only way. And you solve that problem with numbers.

Completely agree. The championship window stays open longer the more high performing rookie contract players you have. And, for the most part, that’s a straight numbers game.

We want one of the top 3 quarterbacks to drop to the bottom of the first so we can listen to offers.
Absolutely. A team is going to want to take a QB in the first because of the 5th year option. The thing is, what would be enough to trade back? Would you give up the 30th pick to the Falcons for pick 43 in the 2nd round and pick 74 in the 3rd round? I don't know. It will be an interesting thing to watch.
I just don't think the Chiefs are using all 12 picks. I think they package 30 and 62 (and maybe 135 in 4th round) to the late teens to go get an Edge or a WR.

I would much rather trade 30 for seconds this year and next year.

I hope the Chiefs aren’t dumb enough to trade up for a WR.
For a DE/Edge, yes.
They have exactly one WR on contract after 2022, and that's MVS. They need a cheap contract. And if WRs start going fast, they have to act quickly. Here's the thing, the 2 positions of need are the 2 deepest positions in the draft.

Probably not the worst idea.

How about we give 29 and 94 ( 1st and 3rd ) for 43 and 58 ( two 2nds )?
I would do that.
You know who else ran a 4.4 40 as an edge/OLB? Kyron Johnson. Would love to see him in KC. I think he will be a star. He was pretty dominant against good lines. He really came into his own late.
