this sounds like just more semantics.

once again, sweet argument you guys.
No, the words mean extremely different things.
Don't take the bait. He's abandoned the war thread to rail against a guy that donated 5.7 billion $$$ to charity. It's some strange self righteous messageboard crusade.

Qus: Elon should donate $6 billion to charity or he's evil!
Response: Actually he donated nearly that much
Qus: It wasn't exactly done the way I wanted it to be done, he's evil!

and yet, if Qus was the one here claiming the UN plan was "bullshit" and we should give the benefit of the doubt to some dood on twitter instead, you guys's heads would explode.

His thing with this is not unique but it's still weird. Lots of people assume people with more of anything (looks, money, education, whatever) are inherently evil.

Did Musk state that the posted plan was "bullshit" or did he just not respond?

no, actually, the one who said the UN plan was bullshit was illy, like 6 posts ago.

Musk was the one who just didn't respond. (and publicly raised all the fuss then acted quietly anyway)

If just the wealthiest 17% of people in the world all donated just $5, we could solve world hunger! They're evil!

No. I did the Qusdahl and phrased is as an unknown or question.

The thing is, what IF the UN plan was bullshit...😉

oh, excuse me.

illy didn't state as a fact that the UN plan was bullshit, you merely suggested it.

Q wants to suggest Elon's big secretive donation after the big public spectacle smells like bullshit too, but I know you guys would rather hold your noses and give him the benefit of the doubt.

I didn't suggest anything. I asked a what if question. That's right from the Qusdahl playbook.

You think news organizations are fabricating charitable donations for Musk? It was donated in the form of Tesla stock.

you know, in the animal kingdom, if one chimpanzee starts hoarding resources from the rest of the community, the other chimps organize to beat up the hoarder.

but save that shit for the animal kingdom, cuz we humans would rather glorify the hoarding.

I guess cuz we're more intelligent, and civilized, and lulz.

Exactly, the top 17% are hoarding! The bottom 83% is just asking for five bucks, and they won't even give that!

where are you getting these numbers? Just making them up?

Either way, I'd encourage you to read up on the metrics of inequality and distribution of wealth.

Are you suggesting we resort to violence?
no.

(there's actually pretty well-articulated theory among intellectual lefty types regarding violence and its practical use...basically, they think violence is necessary, at least in certain capacities, and for the time being, cuz considering things are the way they are, no real change ever happens without violence...and the one violence worth condoning, in theory, is violence in support of the people and communal causes, rather than in support of the state or capital...)

...but I personally stick to the peace love ideology, and hope we can create positive change without having to be violent.

know you, I myself once dabbled in pacifism...not in 'Nam, of course.

If that statement was made to suggest something, it would be to suggest we focus our values more on collective organization and communities, over individual excess and systemic inequality?
