Is that any different than Kirkland brand or Great Value brand or any other store brand in which they sell both the supplier's products and their own knockoff?KUTradition wrote: ↑Mon Feb 21, 2022 7:31 am imo, this is the biggest problem with amazon (outside of worker issues)

Re: Strikes
Will read the rest later, but the second paragraph is the answer to the first. They weren't out of money. They didn't want Trump to get another term. I'd guess Pete was also given the promise of a cabinet position.Qusdahl wrote: ↑Mon Feb 21, 2022 9:57 am
Why did Pete and Amy drop out when they did? More than anything, didn’t they just run out of campaign money? How much of that comes from direct voter support? How much comes from shady who-really-knows super pacs or whatever?
Bernie’s about as anti-corporatist as an American politician gets at the federal level, but bear in mind how many folks think Bernie is just too damn radical.

is costco manipulating their market the way amazon has?
there’s a reason amazon has come under scrutiny for such things
Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?
Re: Strikes
Yes, the store brands do keep the prices of name brand stuff lower. And they have the ability to limit the shelf space of the competing brands. They don't because many people want the name brand thing.KUTradition wrote: ↑Mon Feb 21, 2022 11:03 amit dependsMjl wrote: ↑Mon Feb 21, 2022 10:06 amIs that any different than Kirkland brand or Great Value brand or any other store brand in which they sell both the supplier's products and their own knockoff?KUTradition wrote: ↑Mon Feb 21, 2022 7:31 am imo, this is the biggest problem with amazon (outside of worker issues)

Re: Strikes
New York workers just voted to organize the first Amazon worker’s union
Amazon spent over $4 million last year with consulting groups trying to fight unionization efforts

Re: Strikes
Lol
He’s the dood who organized Amazon workers.
“We want to thank Jeff Bezos for going to space because while he was up there we were organizing a union”

Re: Strikes
Not surprising. Republicans realized they needed the rust belt so they stopped vilifying unions. Democratic stance has remained pro-union. So nobody is spreading anti-union crap any more (with a couple exceptions - teachers and police unions still get attacked).
Re: Strikes
the teachers unions deserve every bit of criticism thrown their way.
Re: Strikes
That's great, good for them, seems overdue.
