That's not the appropriate question.

The appropriate question is has any of it been proven true.

And on that, I'll defer to the guy who broke the Lewinsky story and who played a huge role in breaking the dossier story as well, Michael Isikoff:

Michael Isikoff, the chief investigative correspondent for Yahoo News, said Saturday during an interview on conservative commentator John Ziegler's "Free Speech Broadcasting" podcast that "Steele was clearly onto something" in his probe into the campaign's Russian connection but evidence has not surfaced to support some of his specific assertions.

Steele was correct to suspect "that there was a major Kremlin effort to interfere in our elections, that they were trying to help Trump's campaign, and that there were multiple contacts between various Russian figures close to the government and various people in the Trump campaign," Isikoff said.

But he said when "you actually get into the details of the Steele dossier, the specific allegations, we have not seen the evidence to support them, and, in fact, there's good grounds to think that some of the more sensational allegations will never be proven and are likely false."

"It's a mixed record at best," he said. "Things could change. Mueller may yet produce evidence that changes this calculation but based on the public record at this point, I'd have to say that most of the specific allegations have not been borne out."

seems perfectly appropriate, but perhaps it’s the scientist in me...trying to look at the narrative that most evidence is converging on

if some has proven out to be true, and nothing has been falsified, it doesn’t seem illogical to assume that more will be shown to be true

but, if this was truly all politically motivated (which i doubt), then logic obviously goes out the window

This has prob been mentioned, but it seems telling that when Trump was asked whether he ever worked with Russia, he just ranted about how the question as an insult, and did NOT simply say no he didn’t, like how, you know, a person who didn’t do something would normally respond.

Everyone knows Trump is guilty of something --- Each supporter is just trying to figure out when they can't act as though all is OK anymore.

One of the places this always seemed pointed to is that Trump really, truly, did not collude.

Because "collusion" implies a mutuality, a general balance of power, between or among the colluders.

It is very, very possible that what happened is that Trump - wittingly or not - got bailed out of dire financial straits by laundering, or being the locus of the laundering of, dirty Russian money.

Thanks to our society's perverse obsession with celebrity (among myriad other factors), Russia then found itself with leverage over someone who could actually ascend to the presidency (with a lot of help).

Because of the nature of all of this, there were all sorts of shady characters in the Trump orbit who also needed help, and (being smarter and more resourceful than Trump) did collude, but Trump himself is nothing more than a loud mark.

The shear volume of sewage surrounding the Trump campaign is astonishing.

It is nearly impossible to rise to this level without being surrounded by shit.

Wishing for a presidential candidate untouched by the shitshow is like wishing for a championship contender in college hoops who is untouched by the shoe companies. Good luck with that.

You had a vastly better option than the 5th avenue con man.

If you say so.

Plus, there was a lot more riding on it than just 4 years of 1 or the other. You know that.

I'd still take trump over hillary.
