"He looked good out there. I see him out there looking like Eric Berry." — Andy Reid on what he saw from Berry at Wednesday practice.

I don't want to get my hopes up but that is the most I have heard AR publicly comment about EB and practicing. Nnadi also commented that he expects EB to play on Sunday.

Chiefs expect everyone to practice today except O'Daniel. Highly doubt he plays on Sunday.

But, not b/c I think Brady will be bothered by the pass rush--this is probably the greatest pocket passer in the history of the game. More so because I don't think he has the weapons to keep up with Mahomes and Co. at home.

But, knowing that Brady is Brady and the Chiefs have demons, conventional wisdom will say that Brady will either win this by 3 or lose by 4. That last drive, there's always that last drive.
He has to break at some point. Why not here, now?
Seems like the same exact dude that he was last year.

And, he's not Peyton.

Taking away Brady’s first read could provide enough time for Houston, Ford, and Jones to do damage. That’s the theory, anyway: Brady’s made a career of being immune to pressure, and he led the NFL in passer rating under pressure in 2017 (96.6), per PFF. But this year his passer rating was just 71.2 in those situations—21st among qualifying quarterbacks. If the Chiefs can generate pressure, the 41-year-old Brady may be more vulnerable than ever.

Good O-Line and a bunch of quick throws fixes that.

I just think when Brady breaks we will see more evident signs than we have.

Chargers played him wrong.
He'll thrive in that environment.
I like bringing some pressure -- Titans did it earlier in the season -- and hoping Brady shows some mortality.

The Chargers played this zone with all these DB's and it just was a bad gameplan from the start. And also Bosa is out there joking with Brady during the game about getting rid of the ball too fast. Chargers were mentally weak in that game. Don't think the Chiefs defenders are guys who will joke with Brady during the game.

I am not sure we're using the word "break" in the same way. I mean "break."

NewtonHawk11 wrote: Thu Jan 17, 2019 1:00 pm Agreed. I think it both teams play mistake-free football, the Chiefs win by 10 or so at most. The only place the Pats are definitely better would be the running backs and the defensive secondary, and even with the secondary, it's not that much of an advantage for NE.

But right now Mahomes is better than Brady. WR are better than NE. Kelce is better than Gronk. OL are a push. ST are a push if not a slight edge to KC. Front 7 of KC is better than NE.

I do think there will be a big turnover by KC at some point during the game, and the defense will have to step up.

In turn, I do think the Chiefs will get a turnover or two from Brady due to a strong pass rush.

My final prediction after seeing updated weather predictions and with EB likely being back.

Chiefs over the Pats 31-23.

Chiefs lost to NE by 3 earlier in the year. In Foxboro. No Justin Houston. Sammy Watkins had 2 catches for short yards. Some dude named Josh Shaw was on Gronk. Ward is a huge upgrade over Scandrick. Mahomes had a HORRIBLE first half and the Chiefs were held to 9 points in the first half. Don't think that happens again.
Just to play d.a.......
Have you ever seen a game where a team plays mistake free football?
"The only place the Pats are definitely better would be the running backs and the defensive secondary".
I would give them an advantage at coaching too but what the fuck do I know?
Coaching might be the difference maker - and it might not.
Right now Mahomes MIGHT be a better QB than Brady. I think he is but he's playoff unproven.
It's Thursday at 3:05pm and as far as I am concerned I'm just fine feeling the guy who has won 8 conference championships is just as valuable (if not more valuable) as the guy who is yet to have played in one and has never thrown a single playoff touchdown in his career.
"Kelce is a better TE than Gronk" - based on what?
Again, I hope and believe the Chiefs will win - but the Pats are going to show up.

Due to some practice video taken earlier, it seems like EB was a another full participant at practice. And took reps with the 1's during defensive drills. Moved well. Dressed with no sleeves, which means I think he was intent on being on the field the entire time.

I think he's definitely back.

I wonder if something like that is fairly mandatory by the league to have longer periods shown to media. Because the Patriots did the same thing on their twitter. Did a live video.

Usually all that is shown is stretching and that’s about it.

Berry, Ware and LDT all FP T practice. Ware being back is potential huge news.

Ware is the better pass catching option which is going to be crucial whether it be him or Dam Williams when they have match ups against the slower Pats LBs. Both games Hunt had a field day out of the back field catching the ball.

Double team Hill, chip / hold Kelce and put Gilmore on Watkins. Could this game come down to the RBs, Robinson, Conley and Mahomes making something out of nothing?

Man.. I was really nervous at this time last week.

This week, I'm about as easy-going as I could be as a Chiefs fan. It's an odd feeling.

Agreed.

I thought all along if the Chiefs could get over that hurdle of winning that first home play off game everything else moving forward would be fine.
That is certainly true for us as fans. There was no way you couldn't have bad feelings regarding the Chiefs past record in the playoffs especially against the Colts. Now you play the Pats and for the first time you can say from a 53 man roster perspective the Chiefs are the more talented team and you have a QB that can go head to head against Brady.

Reports are that EB will play against NE. No clue how many snaps but you have to feel better if he can't go the whole way that Dirty Dan and Lucas are viable options to step in. Probably the homer in me but I get a feeling that we are going see something special from EB on Sunday night with the chance to go home to ATL for the Super Bowl looming.

The last time the Chiefs won a conference championship, it was the last AFL game. They did it on the strength of their pass rush and they HIT. Brown about pulled Lamonica apart. This is the end of the Patriots dynasty. I think Brady will be rocked win or lose. It makes a nice 50-yr counterpoint. Looking forward to it and hoping Mahomes is so good the game doesn’t come down to a weird call.
