Re: Indoctrination Centers
Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?
Re: Indoctrination Centers
Even though there aren't any public schools in those areas?KUTradition wrote: ↑Tue Jun 21, 2022 12:34 pm speaking of indoctrination centers…

not ok
Re: Indoctrination Centers
might this place be considered an indoctrination center. if you consider that only one line of thought is required.
Re: Indoctrination Centers
I don't think Canada would accept NY as a province, but maybe they would take a few western counties to get more of the Great Lakes.
Ecotopia was a book I read in high school (still one of my faves). In it, Northern California, Oregon, and Washington secede.
You should look at the work Scotland put into deciding if they should separate from the UK or not (2014). I was there for a few weeks in the summer before they voted. It was exciting (like Johnny Tremain exciting) with the feeling that real history was happening before your eyes with citizens discussing in the square and around the dinner table. Those for separation figured Scotland had the energy resources, best colleges, etc. The vote came down to about ~55% to 45%. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2014_Scot ... 20suffrage.

I don't think an indoctrination center allows you to speak up, talk back, and/or walk away.
Re: Indoctrination Centers
i'm an adult. i feel confident that the greatest country on earth is not going to break up just because a few whiny democrats don't get their way.

I seem to remember 4+ years of whining about Trump winning. And quite a bit of whining about the Supreme Court nominees he picked.

Whining, speaking up, and marching are your right.
Storming the Capitol to prevent the peaceful transition of power in a just election is not protected. Who did that?

Trump supporters.
Stephen Colbert staffers.

Re: Indoctrination Centers
Would indoctrination be requiring the pledge of allegiance to a flag before one knows what "allegiance" means? Not that I am against that, but think about it. This is what schools do. And Mich thinks that the USA is the greatest country on the Earth. Did the indoctrination center (that is what pubs call public schools) he may have attended teach him to think that the USA is the greatest country on the Earth? Do all countries teach that theirs is the greatest? Did Mich's school teach him how to think critically and to defend that position or was that something he learned at an indoctrination center of higher ed?
Re: Indoctrination Centers
if they are doing the pledge of allegiance in schools that is fantastic.

I would posit that more votes (on a percentage basis) for Texas’ exit would come from outside of Texas, if there was a vote.KUTradition wrote: ↑Tue Jun 21, 2022 1:48 pmnobody said it’s just the pubes, numbnutzBasketballJayhawk wrote: ↑Tue Jun 21, 2022 1:14 pmIs it really just the Pubs though?KUTradition wrote: ↑Tue Jun 21, 2022 1:10 pm
