how nice is it to hear optimism from the media, rather than stories about being a dumpster fire and one of the worst programs in the country?
Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

And it's not sunshine pumping from the local journos, either, where what they say never matched what we saw. Last year we saw tangible improvement as the season went on and now everyone is saying that improvement appears legit. It's refreshing. Also it's the end of June and any coverage is nice and this point.

At least in the first quarter.
We'll see if our defense can keep us in games long enough for us to continue.

If we play every game at the same pace we did the OU game last year and end up getting 3-4 wins behind a finally good offensive line and deep stable of running backs, we'll look back and say it was a damn good year.

3 wins won't put me in the 'damn good year' boat.
4 might get me close.

3-9 (depending on how is shakes out) would be a good year for me.

Damn good would be 4-5

3 or 4 wins would be nice. Most important to me is that we are competitive in most of our games. If we end up with 3 or 4 wins and play another 3 or 4 close that we don't win, that's big time imo.

4 players going to media day next week. Daniels inclusion seems to confirm the obvious: he's the starting QB.

Looks like this is the game that will replace Houston on the 2024 schedule.

I thought we were scheduled to play home against Houston in 2023...?

Oh shoot you might be right. UNLV announced games today versus both us and Houston today so I assumed it was the Houston games coming off the schedule, my bad.

I think Houston was originally 2022 (road) and 2023 (home) right?

Big 12 media days are today and tomorrow. KU is on day 1 with Coach Leipold's press conference scheduled for this morning.

Also heard yesterday that camp is scheduled to start August 2. So this is kind of the unofficial kickoff to the season.

Interesting roster note. Have to think this is something the coaches wanted, getting him on campus and learning right away. Would guess he redshirts this season but at least he'll be working out and going through a season at KU.

Side note: I believe he's also going to be the third member of the football team who is also on the baseball team.

Pretty nice preseason recognition for a guy who's played 1 season in college so far.

That's a tough choice because we'll never know what Pooka could have achieved with competent coaching.
